I have this and its great. My only problem is the google TV. It's a bit slow but I never expect much from any TVs built-in OS anyway. Also, I have a Roku Ultra connected to this and they kind of don't mix well. On startup, switching from GoogleTV to Roku Ultra takes a bit of time. I have another TXL TV that has Roku in it and switching to a streaming box like Roku ultra is just smooth and fast. GoogleTV is fairly new so I guess and I hope they get better in time. Oh and another thing, this TV has built-in mic in it so make sure you turn it off because who knows who's listening to you.

120Hz, mini LED with higher max brightness/zones and HDMI 2.1 are the bigger ones

My question is if the 6 series is worth 62% more. I have a R635 as my gaming TV, but am not sure if the S546 is "good enough" for an everyday TV

Google TV (AKA Android TV) is an excellent OS.
"ONE HUGE" problem.... it requires a fairly decent processor, something most TVs lack...including it with low and mid-tier TVs is just not a good idea. Those types of TVs perform best with Roku.
I would advise anyone that does not like Android/Google TV to try them via a streamer or Nvidia.

Man, this is tempting.

I picked up one of the Hisense H9 65" last year but we recently moved and the TV is now a good 3' further away.

Im having a hard time convincing myself to spend another $500 for the R646 when it's a general use TV in the family room

I actually have the 75" 6series and the picture is real nice especially with shows and movies. Yellowstone show is a great example. Had some issues so far with apps not working and sound but so far have only hd to power off for a few minutes and all good. 🤷🏻 Let my dad keep it so might by another

546 gets brighter for HDR and supports VRR

The 6 Series isn't worth 2% more unless you get paid to play games or bet hard on sports weekly

This is my setup. R635 is my living room/gaming TV, S546 is my bedroom TV. Really happy with my R635, the S546 is ok but colors are a bit wonky (there's a bug where the quick start setting makes skin tones blotchy) and the Google TV OS is still a mess, even with current firmware. I have a Roku stick plugged in now.

I read about the color issue. Is that just with internal apps or does it affect HDMI too?

So when you bet on sports, 120hz matters? lol.

My Internal Roku in my TCL65R615 quit allowing streams from our phones. Did a hard reset and didn't help. Bought a 4K Google TV and it's slow to wake up. Does not integrate well with the TCL set. I've tried connecting it to the AVR and directly to the TV with same results. And the picture quality isn't that great. Pic quality is 10x better if connecting YouTube via code from phone vs phone to Google 4K TV.
