100% I feel like hotels are minimum 50% more. Food seemed to be similar to bay area prices. You more at the $15-20 range even on cheap eats. Plus car rentals are still wild like $700 a week.
Prices are high for everything but the flight once in Hawaii

This! I was going to book a trip in May cause of cheap airfare and then stopped cause hotels for a family of 5 are crazy! Even a standard room for a family of 4 is spendy.
Hawaiian Airlines, Alaska Airlines and Expedia have round trip airfares travelling to and from San Jose CA (SJC) and Kahului Maui Hawaii (OGG) for $197, nonstop. These are basic economy fares, a restricted-type fare that allows a personal item and a carry-on bag. There is no seat selection and no changes.
Travel Availability:
Departs SJC: April 19-21, 25-28; May 2-3, 9-11, 16-18, 24, 30 Departs OGG: April 26-28; May 2-5, 9-12, 18-19, 24-26; June 2

Prices for Rental Car, Hotel and Food are EXTREMELY HIGH right now in Maui or other Hawaiian islands. Let alone if you can get a rental car since limited stock.
Cheap flight, but you'll get screwed on the other end of the stick.

If it's just two people traveling, you can rent a U-Haul van for $20/day. MPG will be terrible, and there is a per-mile fee, but the good thing is it's an island.
