I wish the RT82 was on sale, as that one is the most upgradable. The RT81, from what I've been reading, is a nice entry level turntable for those just getting into vinyls. The Audio Technica AT95E cartridge seems to give you really good bang for your buck. I ended up buying the RT81 for my son's 16th birthday that's happening this week, so I'm hoping it's an upgrade from his late 90s Sony turntable. If not, I have 30 days to return it.
