1.) baby monitors don't have as many IR lights as this cam. i dont think IR lights damage baby eyes or nothing, but it can keep them awake from all the red. We have to turn off night mode, and once the baby is down, turn it on. Sometimes we turn it off in the middle of night if it sounds like he's about to wake but in the middle of a sleep cycle and we know he'll go down. Normally, i think baby monitors only have one or two small IR lights.
2.) We pair it with our phones and amazon fire tablet. To use the amazon fire tablet, you need to use the fire toolbox to be able to download the app from the google playstore. It freezes from time to time where it never freezes on our iphone. It also pairs with alexa shows, but be warned that after a few minutes, the screen goes back to the home screen. You can't just have the screen showing on amazon alexa for an unlimited time period. Also for overnight this works, but the screen stays on so we have to put our phone face down so it's just the noise. Normal baby monitors turn off the screen after 30 mins - 1 hr and it just defaults to noise until you "wake" it up again.
3,) with baby monitors, if you get one with multiple cams, the monitor is set up so it will flash the multiple cams or have a side by side view. with this, you can only see one feed at a time and have to click through the various cameras. This comes into effect if you have cameras in the living room and playroom and have someone babysitting or nannying, and if you are trying to keep an eye while working, it means you have to click on the various cameras to see where they are at.
honestly, thinking of it all through, i would have chosen a true baby monitor with multiple cameras that has both a display and can be used on a phone/tablet if i could do it over.
just things to be mindful of that i didn't know before purchasing these for the purpose of baby monitoring.

. My eufy wired doorbells rely 100% on Eufys servers to connect to them and don't have RTSP even though Eufy promised it.
I was avoiding an ''ecosystem" but I really like Eufy - I hope they don't turn on us when they realize selling customer data is a cash-cow . . . I'm in pretty deep with them right now.
I've got doorbells fore and aft . . . out back it's a good all-weather camera with audio and night vision. . . .with an idiot button
I want the new one with package cam pretty bad heheheh

Their fixed 2k cameras are the best deal around though, hard to beat and way better than Wyze.
