Rain on which part? Solar panel or the light? Or both
I got one of these about a year ago. It started to mess up recently. It doesn't seem to last long if you have it out in an area where it gets direct rain fall on it. If you place it somewhere where it has a little cover it will probably last longer.

I bought two of these 2 yrs back at the same price. These are just "ok", the photo sensor doesn't work accurately and I adjusted multiple times.

I got one about a month ago for the same price. So far its been great! I have the solar panel outside and the light inside a shed. Time will tell how long it lasts, but no complaints so far. Motion sensor is accurate, the light is pretty bright and it's good about only coming on when its dark. If it doesn't die after a couple months, then its easily worth $20.

My previous one lasted abt 5 years. Just put this up. In the process discovered I probably could have just replaced the internal battery on the old one for about $6! Battery ordered and now I have 2 that work wonderfully!

Yeah if you're going to drill holes in the side of your house I'd suggest getting something more robust maybe one of the ones with a security camera currently listed on the front page deals. Like the comment above it's basically a toy. Not something I was too excited to drill holes into my home for.

I have one of these and going on the 5th year HOWEVER mine is not a Westinghouse brand. Mine also uses (3) AA rechargeable batteries instead of 2. I use eneloop batteries and occasionally put 3 freshly charged batteries inside because I don't think the solar unit fully charges it he batteries. Reading through the comments I have to wonder if it's the light itself screwing up or just because they come with inexpensive batteries? My solar panel points southeast and gets about 3-4 hours direct sunlight. Will this unit last 5 years? Doubtful but again is it the unit itself or the batteries?
