bought these last time, they are overall decent enough for the price and will be satisfactory for most people's uses. They do leave a bit of a mark depending on the surface type hit though.

Here's a secret. I'm not saying this isn't a good deal if you're looking for 3 mallets of different weights. But if your goal is just to get a low cost mallet that works reasonably well, you can get one for a buck from the dollar store. It's surprisingly competent, too!

I find the Liu Kang bicycle kick method works best for removing a stubborn wheel...Flatality!

When I got my first car (15 yrs ago? ) my dad bought me a rubber mallet to keep in the trunk in the event i couldn't get my tire off if I gotta flat. It was from harbor freight and I can't imagine more than a few bucks.

I still have it to this day… I have left it out in the elements for months, I've run it over with a lawnmower (there's a chunk missing) , and Ive used it for various household/automotive tasks and it still works fine.

Point being… I agree that low cost mallets will likely work just fine. They do leave a black mark on the thing you're hitting, but usually I'll put a scrap piece of wood over what I'm hitting and whack the wood to prevent scuffs.

This seems like a decent buy if you need various sizes

Main issue I can see is the rubber falls off the wood. I would think some epoxy would fix that for a cheap fix

You can smell those rubber through the screens. Just be prepared for that if you decide to purchase.

A dead blow hammer would be better for that purpose. I also use a scissor jack and 2x4 braced to something solid on the other side to push the wheel off the hub. And if all else fails, drive (in a safe place) with slightly loosened lug nuts and hit the brakes hard - if you're lucky, that'll break the seal and the wheel won't come completely off.

How funny... I just bought a 16 ounce rubber mallet at Wally World today and now it's on slickdeals. Anyway, the one from Walmart was $3.38.... but I would have bought this set if I didn't just buy one.

Mule kick them off. Works great.
You can use the rubber mallet to fix the quarter panel if you miss.

I bought this set last time. I have used all 3 of them and have done quite a bit of pounding with the 16 oz. and 24 oz. They are in great shape and quite good for the money.

"Professionally used for home decoration" Would these go in a vase or maybe a curio cabinet?
