Yes you can, but it will not pop for open box motherboards. So just take a look at the price of the motherboard you want, if it's open box, complete, and more than $20 off, then go with that.

I would guess that at least 1/3 of the US population lives within 20-30 miles of a Microcenter. If you look at their locations [microcenter.com], you'll see that they only build them in the largest cities/metroplexes in the US. They're still a little thin out west, since they started in Ohio.

For me personally, I live an hour from a Microcenter (Denver), but I sometimes swing through there and so Microcenter deals are relevant for me.

So, I'm not too informed in the whole socket thing. My current pc has an 8th gen i5. Will this fit in that socket?

Also, I can't get a windows 11 upgrade because if I remember right (I'm at work right now) my setup doesn't have a trusted platform something. Which I think is related to the processor.

So if I can upgrade to this will the windows 11 upgrade work ?

Microcenter in Tustin, CA is only a short 5 hour drive from Las Vegas if there's no traffic in Los Angeles...which there always is...
...so more like 6hrs each way for a quick 12 hour round trip LMAO2

How is there no Microcenter in Las Vegas yet? The Frys that was here closed so there's literally NO computer parts store anymore. It seems like a perfect location for Microcenter to dominate the entire city!

Every thread has someone complaining that they don't have microcenter in their pop. 5,500 town. It'll never end until microcenter puts one right next to every family dollar.

To be fair, Microcenter hasn't quite rolled out across the nation yet. I lived 5 minutes from a Microcenter when I was in Dallas, but I moved to Colorado Springs and the nearest one is now Denver (1 hour away). Colorado Springs is a pretty large city (500,000) and could probably support a Microcenter. And even the Dallas store is the only store for 200+ miles (Houston). The DFW metroplex has 7+ million people and less than half of them live within a reasonable drive of that store. Austin and San Antonio both have populations over 1 million and neither have a Microcenter.

I hope that someday, all Americans can have equal access to Microcenter, but for now, it is just one of the many injustices that we have to deal with that only some are blessed to live near one.

NYC has a few Microcenters within driving distance. Flushing, Westbury, Brooklyn, Yonkers and North Jersey are probably the 5 locations that the person was referring to. If they live in NYC then all 5 locations are definitely within that 25 mile radius.

I've bought quite a few from them and had very few issues. Just make sure you ask to check the box when you're checking out, sometimes they mark them complete and they're actually missing something. Manuals / driver disks, SATA cables, I'm fine with if those are missing, but if its a WiFi board the antennae better be there, the i/o shield needs to be there, the AMD backplate, etc.
