I decided to try the Kasa camera ecosystem because I thought it would simplify my life by reducing the amount of apps that I have to use since I have Kasa smart lights throughout the house but I couldn't make the switch permanently.

Unfortunately the quality of the cameras video output, the functionality and the overall features made me immediately switch back to Eufy. The cameras felt more like upscaled 720 video rather than the 1080p and 2K cameras that I had purchased. At the time geofencing wasn't a kasa feature and even though I could ask my Google home hub to stream the camera it would do so extremely slowly even on my Gug internet connection. I'm currently using a mix of Arlo Pro 4 cameras for the exterior so that my security hub can stream all cameras simultaneously (something that I couldn't do with kasa and Eufy) and the eufy cameras indoor and the garage for geofencing and immediate alerts. It's been working perfectly except for the regular nuisance that happens with Arlo's database

Thanks! this is very helpful. I switched from wyze to eufy not too long ago and was contemplating the kasa for the same reason as you. I'll just stick with eufy

So yesterday they accidentally priced the used version of these at $7 so I managed to get an order of 3. Tried to get another order in right after and it failed to add to cart
edit: actually it was the tilt and pan version

Can you trigger anything else connected to Google home with these, or just other Kasa products? I use the Kasa light bulbs and they have been great but haven't tried any of their other products.

Do not waste subscription money with garbage wyze. Go with Eufy.

On the other note. It's good to see Kasa trying to get into the loop. They are already successful in selling other peripherals, so it's just a matter of time.

I had no trouble with Kasa cameras and they are really easy to configure in their app.
For this particular model, EC60, you can store the video locally on the sd card itself and access it via Kasa app.

Depending on the model you get, you can get free cloud storage up to 2 days for free.
I have the KC120 for 5 years now and I still have 2 days free recording.

Here are some info on free storage from their support page.

Does my Kasa camera still have a free cloud recording?
When you register for a Kasa Cam, you can enjoy the free Kasa Care service depending on the model number of the camera.
With the free service, you will have access to 12 hours or 2 days of video history for the Kasa cameras

Note: The other cameras don't have free cloud recording except the models listed below.
Models Inclusive Free Recording
KC100 Rolling 12-hour video history for 2 years
KC105/EC60 No free cloud recording (Add microSD card to enable free local 24/7 recording)
KC110 Rolling 12-hour video history for 2 years
KC115/EC70 No free cloud recording (Add microSD card to enable free local 24/7 recording)
KC120 Rolling 2-day video history for 2 years
KC200 Rolling 2-day video history for 2 years
KC300 Rolling 2-day video history for 1 year
KC310 Rolling 12-hour video history for 1 year
Note: The 2-year/1-year free plan starts timing after the camera is set up successfully.
