For those corporate web warriors - or, those that live on the web!

Is this a SD deal I guess it depends what you do with computers. Some how web work is thought of as "less" but it is the vast majority of what people do. Hey I can get a Walmart/Gateway i5-1135 14" refurb for $329 (I own two) - but it won't work like this will.

One of the Best of the 11th gen Chromebooks, right before the studly Alder Lake Chromebooks come out. After very spotty availability on these and the almost non-existence of the top i7-1165 processor model it's funny to see they have to now move a bunch of these through volume channels.

Anyway, I bought a couple of top spec 2017 Pixelbook Chromebooks, well over $1000, and they have been the go to for a couple of HS Senior through college (almost!) kids. Yes, they also use PCs, but these are faster and more convenient for a lot of stuff and it's trusty/available - always there.

STEAM works on this.

EDIT: I would also throw-in that this is touchscreen, USI pen compatibility for writing on the screen. If you need to present to people this is a great way to get it done.

Do you prefer a 2-in-1? Try this then:

EDIT: It will receive ChromeOS updates until June 2029 - although the LaCros project should obviate that need well before then.

Funny you have to include that paragraph defending the existence of these especially well spec'd CB's, because you already know it would be countered with a similar example to the one you cited. Still won't inoculate the thread against them

I'm holding out for the HP business chromebook with the 3:2 display format to drop to this price range or less. Wish they had a bump in resolution like my current acer, which is great performance wise, except a POS in build quality and support (HP & even asus would be a step up in those regards)

This is a great deal though, thank you!

3:2 should be all Chromebooks as web machines!

The value is a personal choice, but the Chromebooks get it done for me as my primary machine. I really think of it like a giant phone is terms of its availability.

In terms of resolution, I've had a few 4k Chromebooks and I loved it, but it really does a job on battery life if you need that. Alder Lake may be able to alleviate some of that but more pixels is more pixels.

Yeah waiting to see how this vs the HP Dragonfly Chromebook compare if we're talking top of the line Chromebooks, after having a 3:2 with an Acer 713 it's so hard going back to 4:3...

Hard to go back to 16:9, but yes I agree.

The HP Elite Dragonfly Chromebook STARTS at $2100:

I'm a wild & crazy guy when it comes to spending big cash on top-of-the-line chromebooks, but that is NUTS!

And, if the price isn't a deterrent, the delivery date is so far away it is vaporware.

I don't have experience with it but I would caution it's using an 10th gen processor - the same one that was used in the original Samsung Galaxy Chromebook. It worked fine but 12th gen chips are around the corner.

If you have a need for 2-in-1, look at the bottom of the link here:
https://www.costco.com/asus-14%22...01388.html

for an alternate choice for 2-in1 chromebooks. This is Chromeunboxed's daily carry - which is a pretty good recommendation.

I guess a factor is are you ok with the screen aspect ratio. I do much prefer 3:2. I think there should be an updated HP model somewhere?

I suspect this has been hashed out numerous times on other threads, but a short google search didn't provide a quick answer.

Can a high-end Chromebook like this one be used as a dual-boot system for either Chrome OS and Windows 10/11? Or more to the point, is there specific HW that needs to be in a Chromebook to easily support dual boot into Window 10/11?

Thanks

I don't know what the status of dual booting is. It used to take a lot of work by third party users.

The interesting thing is Parallels can run on enterprise Chromebooks.

Dude if you been involved with enterprise list pricing you know that's never the actual sale price. We're starting to see them get priced out at retail distros for around 999-1200 which makes much more sense.
