Nice! With the $20 reduction if you combine with a MB or GPU, any suggestions for a decent midlevel MB in stock @ MC to go along with this?

EDIT: Ended up getting an open box ASUS Z590-E ROG STRIX Gaming WiFi Intel LGA 1200 A for $160 after the $20 combo coupon ($100 to $130 off MSRP). Total price for the CPU and MB is $400. Also got in on the Gigabyte UW 34" 144Ghz for $300.

This is a good start in terms of acquiring the components for my next gaming rig. Now just waiting for a good deal on a 3060 TI...

Sure. You don't really match a CPU to a GPU, you match a CPU (for socket type) and/or a GPU (for power pins) to a MB.

I'm not sure you understood his question. You absolutely do match a CPU to a GPU. For example, if you get a very powerful GPU but not a powerful enough CPU you're going to run into a bottleneck by the CPU and the GPU won't be able to hit full utilization among other things such as stuttering.

Yes, that's true. I was answering from a compatibility standpoint rather than a performance one.

I'm not going to say is a bad deal but let's be honest for an extra $100 you can get the 12700k, more cores and ddr4 ddr5 compatible. The 11700k is locked at ddr4 3200 while the 12700k has more room for upgrades on the ram and MB.
