I'll post this every time I see an Acer 5 Nitro on here. I have one. A month out of warranty, the laptop stopped reading the graphics card. I described my problem to Acer and asked for a quote to get it fixed. The "low" upfront cost? The price of the laptop.

Never again.

I wonder if they have improved the cooling system on these. I have a Nitro 5 with 1050ti, couple of years old. When those fans ramp up to high speed when gaming it is loud AF. Headphones required.

Also for a gaming laptop, 512gb nvme is a bummer. Games nowadays are huge and eat up disk space quick. Plan on dropping $100+ on a 1tb nvme drive. If this has 2 slots, all the better... but I don't know for sure it does.

Last, the power brick on mine is gigantic and weighs a pound just by itself. Easily twice the girth of the one my work Dell laptop uses. Not likely this new one consumes less power.

edit - specs page doesn't list weight for the brick, but it's 180W, so ...yeah. Also I don't see a dedicated power port from the pics, but they get fuzzy when zoomed in hard to tell. One would hope that every laptop by now is USB-C powered, but I cannot confirm it. USB-C power is so convenient I would be hesitant to buy a laptop without it. It's really nice to be able to charge your phone, headphones, etc etc from the same cord your laptop uses when you travel.

What? The Ryzen series has been choking intel for years now. Intel can hardly keep up both in price points and performance

It's not usb. Power port on right side next to vent. It does have 2 NVME and 1 SSD. Fans yes they are a little loud. It can get 85 FPS on bf2042 at high settings 65 on ultra.
