For a retailer that went to the edge of collapse, Gamestop is being really competitive here bringing these cards to consumers at near Msrp pricing. Good to see these guys are seemingly wanting to pay back gamers and online supporters like Redditors by offering these things at fair market price.

BestScam and NewReburbegg could learn from it.

How does this stack up to the 3070TI that was just on sale? This is way cheaper so I am guessing its a big gap. I want something that can handle VR games ok, I don't need the best VR ever but I'd like to play Half Life Alyx and No Mans Sky with no issues.

With no issue stick with 3070ti because 6600xt is around 30% less FPS performance.

ETH going to Proof-of-stake (no more mining it) in a few months (like it has been for years laugh out loud).

But if it does, GPU prices will drop hard.

Sounds like it might've gotten delayed again, some are saying possibly end of year.

279.99 is the real msrp of this card this price range was traditionally for 7 series. If you need something now it's great prices have dropped a lot, but these should go lower unless some mining or shortage hits. We should be hitting the phase of the cycle when gpu prices drop, and we have a couple more years until the next wave hits of shortages.

Cars used to be $5000 MSRP. Everybody, don't buy a car until prices drop to $5000 again!

Also, I'm not paying more than $0.10 for a pack of gum, damnit!

Since I don't game to much, I can keep my cards for 5 to 7 years, so I don't need to bottom fish on price. I just built my new rig(5-5600x 32gig, Gig Aorus elite x570, Seasonic case w/ 750w PS). With that said, I am again ready to upgrade my GTX 950 I purchased in 2016. Just trying to find the sweet-spot to jump in again (around $500ish). I am leaning towards 3060 TI/ 3070(8GB) or RX6700 XT(12GB). I am going to try to get in on Amd's website Thursday. Here is my tracking aid below. The % gains are what I get over my 950, the prices are (best current price / MSRP) Hope it helps.

Not sure what that means. Are you talking about the performance of the card should make it 279.99? I'd say you are probably right, as even the MFG's are guilty of raising MSRP's to ridiculous levels. But as far as its MSRP since release, it has always been 379.99 and on average since release, have been selling around 6-700 USD.

Way I look at it is, we don't really know the future of the market, and based on history, all the times everyone said the market would drop, it never did. So if you can get them close to MSRP, I think that's a good time to start looking at buying, because I doubt they will dip below that unless for some crazy sale.

It's unlikely the next gen cards at the end of the year will do anything to ease the market, because they are already talking about MSRP price INCREASES by large numbers on the next gen cards from both brands.
