Ordered this about 4 months ago. Looks new except for the recon stamps on it. Performs well and a great deal at this price.

noob question. Can I power this with the 18V ryobi batteries?
No… different batteries completely.

That one has been factory blemished with 2 batteries for 200 before . . . I've been contemplating getting that one.
Factory Blemished? So DTO?? Or Home depot? I may bite at that price

Imo buying a reconditioned/used battery is never a great idea. Pass.

Do you think this would be OK for cleaning pine needles off a roof and out of a driveway? I keep having to pay a guy to clean the needles and leaves off the roof of my parents' cabin a couple times a year so they don't get fined by the fire department and want to just start doing it myself if I can. I already have a ladder so at $80 this thing would pay for itself the first time I used it...
yes, should be good.

tempting to pick this up for the battery and flip the blower. just had a battery crap out on me the other day after it sat out in a light rain for a few minutes.
I just ordered one (for pickup at my local store) to do just what you are saying. A new blower like this model at HD retails for $150 -- so thinking I should be able to sell it for $50-70 depending on it's condition. I have the original 40V blower which seems to work just fine for me, but my two original batteries are both going out. Hopefully I get a good 4Ah one when I pick this up!

I have the 40v 190mph blower from a couple years ago. Back then the battery went underneath the blower. I see they have changed that, but it never bothered me. Mine is super powerful to say the least. I have a large property here in Louisiana with a lot of land but I mainly use it to blow off my front and back patios, my carport and my walkway. Using the turbo mode, it will last about 30-35 minutes with a 4AH battery. On the normal mode which is still pretty powerful, it lasts about 50-55 minutes. Mine is 2 years old now, so back when it was new, it may have lasted a bit longer, I can't remember. I just used it today to blow leaves and twigs off my 18 foot utility trailer that was sitting under a tree for about a year. It blasted it off no problems.

I sold the OP blower for the one you linked to. It's noticeably more powerful. Love it. The one in the thread is still good, especially at this price. Although I will say a few months back this w battery was daily popping up at tools direct (not direct tools) eBay site (which is Home Depot returns) for $50. That's where I got mine (and a deal on the 730 cfm one).
Thanks. Relocating to the PACNW and need something powerful, with a decent run time (so two batteries is a bonus) to clear large douglas-fir debris.

Battery was in its own bag and box in the main box. It is also recon, but looks new.

Got the blower, looks like used (some dirt marks) but battery was in a seal box so I think the battery is new.

Works as it should so Im happy and its alot lighter and quieter than my gas blower
