Auto-renewing at $11 a month. If you cancel immediately, it only gives you one month (until 5/20 if do it today).
Insane this this is getting hate.

1. It's free for 3 months. If you go once, it's one free drink. If it's convenient and next door to Staples (which you happen to visit once or twice daily), then you get 30-60 free drinks a month.

2. $8.99/$10.99 isn't bad. A weekly drink would be $2-3, which is pretty darn good if you ask me.

3. Order it on the kiosk. You can take your own cup and not have to wait.

4. Even better than #3, it you bring your own mug you can fill it up. I bring a Yeti mug and just tap three buttons on the iPad kiosk, fill it up, and leave.

5. Filling it up yourself, in my (and all my friends and coworkers) opinion is one of the best parts. Want to try something before you commit? Go ahead. Want to mix and match? Go ahead. A drink came out too weak? Make it again. Want a refill if you're sitting there?Go ahead.
You're of no use to anybody.

I suspect some stores probably had people doing that with monster mugs for their coffee. It's probably not a big deal for soda since they use huge tanks that are constantly flowing. With the brewed coffee, they need to make sure they don't run out, but at the same time not make so much that it goes stale before it gets used up. So that can probably cause some headaches with inventory control, particularly at smaller locations that don't usually go through huge volumes of coffee. I expect most stores probably won't even bother saying anything, but those where it caused a problem can enforce it if people go overboard.

I pay for 2 and take 2. No one's said a word yet. I do actually spend some times since my daughter loves the soup and I have eaten there twice whereas before this I never have. I figure as much pop as I get I don't mind a meal for her now and then.

Kinda makes sense, but it's hard to imagine there is a significant population of people filling 50+ oz mugs with coffee.

FWIW, I asked the front counter at my local store about the travel mugs. Apparently, it's still in their system so you can order it that way. It's just not in the app any longer. Of course, that's a miniscule sample size, and she may have been misinformed, so the situation could change any day now.

Yeah, but you've seen those kind of posts here on Slickdeals and know there are some people doing it. Like people in a coffee pool at the office deciding to use a 100 oz monster mug and fill up the coffee pot at work rather than pay for coffee and make it themselves on their days. Or those with a work crew grabbing enough that way to fill a couple thermos and share with everyone. I'm not trying to bash anyone for it and I doubt it's a large percentage of people, but data analysis is everything these days and things like that can definitely cause some headaches in that regard. Like I said, I doubt they'd get overly strict about it, but it might give them a way to deal with it if a few locations were having problems like that. It might even be a temporary thing until they establish some baseline data.

This is the official response I got from [email protected]

"We believe it's important to be environmentally friendly whenever possible. The decision to bring your own reusable mug is left at the discretion of your local cafe manager. Once you've spoken with them and if they are comfortable with it, there should be no issue in bringing your own mug on future visits."

So, in all likelihood, most store managers won't care. And the front-line employees will care even less.

Yep ā€¦ a pretty basic canned response that doesn't really address the issue of why it was changed in the app at all. Those replies are usually from a generic customer service rep who is basically just supposed to give a polite, vague reply that keeps people happy. But yeah ā€¦ the bottom line is they probably aren't going to care or give anyone problems about it for the most part.

Yeah, it appears that they do renewals monthly and they gave free subscription renewals through July 4 for those enrolled. So the actual expiration date may be up to a month later. Basically, it seems like the end result is that most everyone ended up with a free 90-day subscription for this promo (except maybe those who got in on the last day). Not sure why they didn't just say that. I signed up originally on 4/19 and my subscription is up for payment / renewal on 7/18. (My last automatic "free renewal" fell on 6/18). The final expiration date will vary, depending on when you signed up. But yeah, they definitely started with a really poorly worded explanation.

YMMV - canceling subscription gave 3-months for $3.33 each to continue.

Worked for me. My first payment wasn't due until 7/26. Went online and cancelled and immediately got the $3.33/month offer.

Same here. Subscription ended last Wed-3rd but still worked until this past Sunday the 7th. In the end, got over $200 worth of free drinks during the 3 month trial.
