1. It's free for 3 months. If you go once, it's one free drink. If it's convenient and next door to Staples (which you happen to visit once or twice daily), then you get 30-60 free drinks a month.
2. $8.99/$10.99 isn't bad. A weekly drink would be $2-3, which is pretty darn good if you ask me.
3. Order it on the kiosk. You can take your own cup and not have to wait.
4. Even better than #3, it you bring your own mug you can fill it up. I bring a Yeti mug and just tap three buttons on the iPad kiosk, fill it up, and leave.
5. Filling it up yourself, in my (and all my friends and coworkers) opinion is one of the best parts. Want to try something before you commit? Go ahead. Want to mix and match? Go ahead. A drink came out too weak? Make it again. Want a refill if you're sitting there?Go ahead.

The Charged Strawberry Lemon Mint was good but I didn't taste any mint really. It's almost a concentrate so you can just add water or tea to cut down the sugar/caffeine. The Apple Cranberry was just okay...but probably not bad to add a bit to another drink. I have a hard time believing it really has the same amount of sugar as the strawberry lemon mint...doesn't taste like it.
Overall, I just like that it's self service and you can mix the drinks whether for different flavors or diluting. I'm guessing a mostly agave lemonade and iced tea mix with a little bit of the strawberry lemon mint would be ideal and dash of apple cranberry (if you plan to drink it right away). Otherwise (or as your refill) just get a large cup of the strawberry lemon mint (no ice) to bring back home to mix with.
So, the situation varies.

Strange. I've been to maybe 8 or 9 stores here in California. They have all had the cups sitting by the ordering kiosk. The kiosk even explicitly tells you to just grab a cup.
Do some stores not have the self-service ordering?

Hmmm, have you ever tried the Travel Mug Refill option in the app? Takes me just 30 seconds to order that when I get in my car. Then at the store I just walk in, fill my mug, and go.
I think it's technically for coffee, but no one ever seems to mind if I use it for fountain drinks.

Easier to get forgiveness than permission.
This morning, I asked the guy at the pickup window if it was still ok to use my travel mug, and he said no problem. Don't know if that's against policy though.

I guess if any of them say anything I'll cancel it. I have always been bringing in my mug. In fact one manager said it didn't matter how big the mug was so I have a 100oz 7-11 mug that I use for pop. Lemonade is okay but I'll stick to my diet Pepsi.
