It's not your fault, you've clearly been misinformed by MSM and society. Ghee is a far better option to the cruddy oils you will find at fast food and most restaurants. (Canola, soybean, corn, other seed oils)
If you don't have an ethnic food store near you, my local Sams and Costco both started selling Ghee in bulk (NJ)
Not as well priced as Indian food stores, but I guess it depends on how much Ghee you really need….
