I paid $825 for origina Aeron and $1000 for remastered a few year ago. I don't regret both purchases

With so many offices closing, you can find Herman Miller office chairs on offer up ot craigslist-- i have a very nice chair that i picked up for 200-- retails for 1000+

Can someone tell me why people love the Aeron so much? I was given one by my last company to work at home and I found it to be no more comfortable than a $200 leather executive chair I got from Costco. Just returned it yesterday as I got a new job and I'm thinking of trying something else but the prices of their chairs are so steep and I don't understand the hype.

These are amazing! Look at Craigslist/fb marketplace. Since many offices (at least in my area, Metro Detroit) have gone remote, i picked up a near perfect condition fully loaded aeron chair for $350 a few months ago.

Wish the gaming versions came in white. I'm moving away from black, makes everything look so weighed down.

Keep an eye on Ebay too. I bought a remastered for $825 shipped (posture fit, adjustable arms and quiet wheels) last year during the supply chain issues. (authorized dealer too)

Its my second Aeron in the last 15 years and its worth every penny even at $1000.

It's so strange to me that these LOOK just like the $100 mesh chairs you see at Staples...but obviously, they are MUCH better.

So...can anyone clear up WHY they are so much better? Besides just saying "they are more comfortable" of course :-P

Like - what makes them more comfortable? More support? Is it the quality of the mesh? Strength/stiffness of the mesh?

I use to shake my head when I saw these $1k-$1.5 office chairs pop up on SD. One day however I walked into a garage sale rite when they opened, and they had a Miller Aeron for $10 bucks. I said I'll take it, and they said would you like the other two in the basement, all three for $20? Yep, I can do that. ( their company had purchased them for all employees, I don't think they knew what they had). That chair has literally been a life changing purchase. Mom and the wife got the other two. Would pay full price if ever needed another one.

"Sold my Arron after two months", is how I have determined that I can't take your statement serious. Basic chairs break after 1-2 years, which is how long it generally takes to realize the benefits of buying a high end chair. Sure, you can spend $100 for 10 years and get garbage, or you can spend $1000 and have it last you at least 10 years. I'm sick of rewarding cheap manufacturers. If I didn't already have a great chair I'd buy this just to spite your post. Sure, spend 1/10th of your money now and spread around the misery for 10 years, or just buy quality now.

Did the same thing on my Embody chair last year (came out to $1,100 with every option under the sun selected). Reach out to the local dealers in SoCal and cross shop them.

Best chair you'll ever own.
