Edit: why thumb down on a fact? Amazon mixes their own and third party (FBA) inventory to basically use them as cost-free safety stock at the expense of potentially selling counterfeits.
Oh yeah and when I wrote a review stating that Amazon sold me a counterfeit memory card they took the review down. So take that what it's worth. Didn't they just ban some major third party manufacturers for encouraging people to leave a review? As far as I know they couldn't selectively delete negative reviews yet Amazon does exactly that….

Items sent directly from Amazon.com definitely go through a very specific shipping and labeling channel and has a much higher bar for dealing with counterfeits. And even then if you manage to get a bad one Amazon is way more likely to make it right compared to one sold through a 3rd party.
