If I knew it was this useful I would have purchased one for each computer to have dedicated hub just to exchange files between USB drives.
Like another has said, this thing will eventually CRAWL with normal use. Unless you're looking at this for some cold storage - which it's obviously not being marketed as, then I'd pass.

This drive is 7200rpm and has read/write speeds nearly double to most tested 5400rpm drives, according to this review. I believe the drive you linked is 5400rpm.

After losing vital data your first time in these metrics; spin physics still looks pretty damn-good.
Now I gotta remember to fit in barrel twists so I don't become too stagnant as an armchair quarterback...
A user on Reddit however claims to have shucked an 8tb one and found a barracuda (not pro) which is smr and 5400rpm

Download CrystalDiskInfo and show us the info on the drive.
I found this review from November 2021. It wasn't a 7200 RPM drive.

ST8000DM004 is a SMR drive.

Also, a reddit user supposedly shucked the drive and said they found a Seagate Barracuda ST8000DM004. Not sure if this is a 7200RPM drive, but was able to confirm it's definitely a SMR drive. Hope this helps someone.
edit: The review I listed doesn't mention the drive RPM, but does mention it's read write speed and throughput. They used Black Magic.
