I returned a defective mobo they didn't give me a full refund and they charged a restocking fee, that's the last time I brought anything computer related from Newegg.

The DDR5 results clearly showed that. The performance difference in gaming between the two extremes (DDR4-2133 C15 and DDR5-6400 C36) was only around 8%. However, once we stepped up to something better, like DDR4-3200 C15, DDR5-6400 C36 was only 2% faster.Dec 19, 2021

DDR5 not worth it currently you can save over $100 by going 16GB DDR4 for $60 or even upgrade to 32GB DDR4 and save money i7 12700k and Z690 ASRock Steel Legend DDR4 is $475 with promo code PAX22343

$781 pieced out separately, not including the game. Not bad.

I'm at 623 for same CPU, similar DDR4 MOBO and 32 GB DDR4 3600 MHz ram. Is it worth it to return and go for the DDR5?

DDR5 provides twice the bandwidth of DDR4 while using less power consumption

Are they gonna say I bent some pins on the CPU and motherboard if I try to return it?

From performance point, probably not.

From a future proofing and lower power consumption (on the RAM), I'd say yes since the difference is like less than $20. If you bought it from newegg though, there is a hassle factor with them i.e. I heard bad things about their returns.

To others: Your mileage is unlikely to vary from this guys.

Newegg is an abomination. I had the same experience my guy.

Their abysmal returns is the reason I've passed on many, many Newegg deals. I had a terrible experience on a return myself and understand why so many people complain about it.
