Agreed, if you are planning on docking a laptop this replaces the charger, the dock unit, the speakers, several extra cables, with one amazingly tidy connection. That's worth $100 and then some. If you don't plan on using those features, it might not be.

You referring to the 32" ultrafine 4k model? Yes, that is also ergostand. I want that one too!

I bought this monitor 2 weeks ago for $349 which was after $100 off. I'll try to get a refund on 29th.

This is a very nice monitor for wfh. No need to buy monitor arms and the ergo stand works a lot better than the monitor arms you can buy below $100. So $300 is a great deal. Plus, it has usbc and built in speakers.

You mean HDMI out, so you can use the usb-c from your laptop to drive two monitors at once? No but i do wonder if it does displayport-mst or the equivalent via USB-C since its got a variety of fancy USB features like "USB Down-stream Yes (2ea/ver3.0)" but its not clear what that does. This thing is pretty new so theres not a lot of complete material out there for it. I would also caution, I have a dual 1440p setup and it seems most laptops/docks dont support full res dual 1440p at 60hz via the USB-C. I have resorted to using the usbc plus the hdmi direct on the laptop.
Yes my bad, hdmi out is what I wanted to refer it to

I read through the manual and it doesnt mention supporting any IN/OUT style display tech via displayport or usb-c.

I got that one a couple months ago from Costco, LOVE It, the stand should be the same and the stand is amazing, this is a second monitor for me

perhaps bit of a dumb question but would this monitor+mac-mini be comparable or better buy (bang for buck) than a imac?
For one, the 32 inch Big imac version will be no where near this price plus an mac mini. This option will always be the better option or you could pair it with a broke display macbook pro.

For those who don't want the Ergo stand and don't care about USB-C, they have a 32" LG monitor with a regular stand with the exact same panel for $250. That's regular price. It was on sale for $199 in early March.

If the 4k variant goes on sale, think it's worth the $500 price tag? What did you pay for yours? And do you use it for office / movies /games etc?

Is it as bad as having 27" 1080p?
slightly better pixel density; 81ppi vs 92ppi so, at the same viewing distance, the image will look slightly sharper.

I could not imagine being limited to one screen, let alone a 24 inch screen, no matter how sharp and beautiful it is. My 27 inch screens feel too small for me. 4.5k is completely unnecessary at 24 inches in my opinion though the 500 nits is very nice.

I would opt for this + an m1 mac mini. But not neccesarily this exact model cuz there is a premium for the stand and usb c.

I know the aesthetics of the imac cannot be matched but on other fronts such as compute power, monitor, and performance/speed? also future proofing.
The display on the iMac (though smaller) is a higher quality panel and a much better resolution for Mac OS (5k is a native resolution while 4K must be scaled)

Is this the same monitor that Costco is selling without the ergo stand?
If you're thinking of the 32" 165hz one, no. This one is IPS and doesn't have the high refresh rates.

Does anyone know if it's possible to buy the ergo stand by itself? I have a different monitor and really interested in this style.

When that LG 32UN880 goes on sale again, I'm gettin' me one. Wish I'd bought it back in January. I was jonesing maybe for an LG 42" C2 when it becomes available, but the price...and that size...yoiks. Come on Costco, I'm waitin' on ya.
