Agreed, if you are planning on docking a laptop this replaces the charger, the dock unit, the speakers, several extra cables, with one amazingly tidy connection. That's worth $100 and then some. If you don't plan on using those features, it might not be.

You referring to the 32" ultrafine 4k model? Yes, that is also ergostand. I want that one too!

I bought this monitor 2 weeks ago for $349 which was after $100 off. I'll try to get a refund on 29th.

This is a very nice monitor for wfh. No need to buy monitor arms and the ergo stand works a lot better than the monitor arms you can buy below $100. So $300 is a great deal. Plus, it has usbc and built in speakers.

This one, is it this monitor screen quality wise as this?

I can't comment on the ergo one vs that one, but I've seen that one in store many times and it looked pretty good. Only difference between the ergo is that it has the special ergo mount, speakers, usb-c, and 2 HDMI ports. The one you linked was on sale in-store for $199 a couple weeks ago, has 2 HDMI ports and has been on sale on and off for months now.

If the 4k variant goes on sale, think it's worth the $500 price tag? What did you pay for yours? And do you use it for office / movies /games etc?
I got the the 4K variant (still in box) for $500 a few months ago and haven't had time to set it up for myself but I've set one up for a friend that got it for $550 1.5 years ago. I'd say it's a great WFH monitor especially if your laptop supports USB-C. Gets rid of the clutter of having to plug in power charger, audio, video, and usb. The ergo mount is it's main selling point. It's really nice, your traditional monitor mount doesn't compare. I'd say if you like to move your monitor a lot, it's worth it, but if you don't and your monitor is usually in a fixed position then it's not worth the extra $100.

Not as good as Xbox Series X or even Series S, as those support 1440p output and AMD FreeSync (Variable Refresh Rate), though not at 75 Hz. PS5 will run 1080p at 60Hz and won't have FreeSync support. But HDR would work maybe on both? A 4K monitor or even the cheap $300 4K TVs (55 inch Vizio series M6 is $300 at Costco) will work better for consoles, even at 60Hz.

I had the 4k version for a few months. It is largely satisfactory with beautiful screen and USBC for charging and everything.
Two annoyances are the text are too small when connected to my Macbook air, and t
excel files display horrible. Neither issue occurred on another 32 inch QHD monitor.
Therefore I am getting this QHD monitor. Just love the stand, usbc connectivity and the 10 bit screen color.

You can change the text display easily by going to System Preferences > Displays > Display Settings and adjust the resolution of the monitor

Does that mean the whole screen resolution is scaled down too, or just the text? If you need to scale down the whole resolution for text for Excel / Work, seems like it would be better to just get the QHD?

Thank you for the direction. It actually worked.
I will still get the QHD monitor to replace an aging 32 inch VA monitor.

I really cant see $100 value at all. $15 maybe?
Only 2 usb-A on the monitor and it says 0.9A if I did not see it wrong. Thats very low. And its only 2 usb-A. No extra usb-c, card reader.

There better usb c hubs sold for $15 on amazon.

Speaker is trash anyway. If you like that you can go with the laptop speaker as well. Any $20 logitech 2.1 would outperform this monitors speakers.

Stand is nice tough. I know there are similar ones sold for $20 but this might be better quality one.

A similar stand for $20?! The stand, speaker, and usbc power supply come with this monitor are worth more than that $100 imo. Also, many people would prefer a clutter free desktop over extra cables, adapters, speakers, and a flimsy stand.

The other user I was replying did not include the stand's price into this. He just mentioned USB hub capabilities. Those capabilities are simply not good as they should be. Limited ports, limited amperage. Its not going to help cable management much and you'd need to reach backside of the monitor to plug a USB. Many small USB-C hubs offer more practical solutions and you simply need one of it. If you want you can fix it to end of your table, the backside of the monitor as well. You can use laptop speakers instead of monitor speakers. Both offer subpar quality.
