That is worth noting. From my experience, the delivery date 'often' gets moved sooner than what they first say. But of course not all the time. My order got moved up to May 8th.

I thought the 3070 TI has more cores (6144 vs 5888) and GDDR6X instead of GDDR6.

It does, but once you overlock the 3070 it comes close to 3070ti. Meaning at stock speed the 3070ti is only ~8% averagely better than 3070 stock. That is why most people said the 3070ti is the OC version of the 3070 at a higher cost and TDP. One more reason people favor the 3070 more than the ti version. But, the market, demand, and shortage F up the prices making the 3070 worth the same or more than 3070ti. So, if you can get the 3070ti at a good price around $600 that would be great. Plus, a lot of people report coil whine so choose your GPU card carefully. This was done by an AIB vender cheaply out of the power delivery component.

FYI, the 3080 is still ahead by ~15% even if you OC the 3070ti.

How come an OC 3070 ti doesn't become more like a 3080? Is the gap that much further than a 3070 is to a 3070 ti? Trying to debate over a 3070 ti at $700 vs a 3080 ti at $1200

I'm new to all of this but based on my research deep dive the 3080 does seem to be the best value to performance card, but the problem is that's the only card that's either never on sale for msrp or out of stock.

I have 14 days to decide between the 3070 ti @ $700 and the 3080 ti FE @ $1200. I didn't want to open them both just to return one but looks like I may have to..

i personally would keep the 3080ti. i would probably regret keeping the less powerful card. id still be looking for deals in the meantime
