Why do you have all those tools, and yet not know the answer to that question? Have you ever used any of them?
Because some of them came in sets. And all of them have been used for different purposes. I haven't come across a situation where they weren't enough but some cuts took a long time. Which is why I was asking if the recip saw is better and faster for certain things.

Repping everyone who actually answered the question instead of trying to have a D measuring contest of who the bigger tool is.

Wish this is Kobalt brand. I have built up the tool set in all Kobalt. I can use another battery.

Those batteries don't claim to be Dewalt brand. Look at the listing title: 2 Pack For Dewalt
Knock me over for a sucker. I missed the "For" preposition. It's colored identical to Dewalt. The font is Dewalt. The word "Dewalt" appears in the listing.

The only indication that is a giveaway that it is not Dewalt is the price which is ridiculously low by a factor of 3x.

So I just bought the recip saw. Wondering if I truly need it - I already have a Dewalt 20v circular saw, jigsaw (wired), and a multi-tool with a set of wood and metal blades. Is a recip saw faster?
A reciprocating saw is great if you need to cut out a stud, go through any wood with nails, or just get to an area you can't get a circular saw into. A multi tool can technically do the same things but at a lot slower speed and blades are way more expensive.

In addition to other posts (demo work, pruning, etc) a reciprocating saw is also great for things like buried pvc cutting or tree roots in trenches.
Slap a metal cutting blade on it and rip through stubborn nails.
I wouldn't use one for any sort of clean cut, but you need something cut quick and dirty without ruining the blade, that's the tool.

I do use the Dewalt recip saw, it is very handy and it is the right tool for many occasions. My circular though, it is wired and I rarely use it after I got a table saw. But I have been wanting to get an extra 5Amp battery, so the circular saw with the battery is tempting. Geez... hmm.... decision...

Redoing my pool pump/filter/heating plumbing, and the recip saw is a lifesaver for cutting existing pvc etc. I don't have a miter saw, so I also use it to cut things like channel strut, gutter downspout, etc. I use cheapo Milwaukee metal blades from HD for like $2-3 so I don't care if the blade gets destroyed. I use it for metal first, then PVC/plastic later. Again, a chopsaw would be best but don't have one, nor the space for one.

How does Dewalt compare to Milwaukee? I'm trying to jump in to the cordless game and can't seem to pick a lane.

It'll help cut shrubbery if you get the right blade for it.
Like a 5 - 6 tpi pruning blade? Or a different type?

How much do you value your money?
Let me start by saying both are great and reliable tool brands.
I don't think anyone will argue Milwaukee typically has a leg up on Dewalt though, however once you compare the prices it changes.
My personal opinion, if your income depends on the tools and you can afford it, Milwaukee is the way to go. If you don't use them daily, save the cash and get the Dewalt models instead. You'll still get excellent reliability and performance and you might get more use of your money elsewhere.

Is the 1/2 Compact impact wrench with this XR 20V 5AH battery a better deal than the Maxtool one?

I'm new to dewait (i have Milwaukee) and not very familiar with the batter family of dewalt

Milwaukee and Dewalt have fanboys rooted in the marketing hype. Despite the debates here, Milwaukee and Dewalt are more like twins than they are different. It is like debating whether an Accord or Camry is better, as if they are massively different vehicles.

The truth is that Team Red and Team Yellow spend millions of dollars in marketing alone to recruit consumers to buy into their products. That is the real reason why they offer so many lines of tools (12v, 18v/20v, Fuel, Surge, Flexvolt, Power Detect, XR, Atomic, blah, blah, blah). It's like dangling various bait when fishing, hoping one hits. At some price point, they are hoping you bite and then it is game over, you're sucked into their line and forever drinking their Kool-Aid.

If I had to do it all over again, I would probably choose Rigid. They have quality tools, decent prices, but win big time by offering a great warranty policy, even on batteries. If a Dewalt or Milwaukee battery goes bad, you're shelling out another $50 or so for a new one. If a Rigid battery goes bad, you can swap it for a new one for free. They might not have the marketing power and variety of other lines, but most every tool you would need for 99% of jobs, they make. Just my 2 cents.

Yeah, for the most part. Ridgid fits the bill. Plus, they are adding new tools
