Question for those who have experience with Mint; for someone who's already on Mint can they buy this or another data/month combination to use on an existing line? Is there a date service would need to be activated by? Thanks in advance for answering.

No, these deals that come with SIM cards or phone bundles for Mint are ONLY for NEW ACCOUNTS. A lot of people have grieved about buying these SIM activation bundles only to find out that it cannot be applied to existing accounts. Extending an existing plan can only be done directly through Mint, not through retail store SIM/Phone bundles.

You have 45 days from the date of purchase to activate the line. Mint warns people that after 45 days from when they are marked as "sold", these SIM cards are deactivated. Only a handful of people have reported success activating past the 45 days, as there are more people who have reported that their kits were deactivated, as stated, around the 45-day mark.

It's 45 days, officially. Anything else is YMMV if you're the gambling type. New number activation or port in only.

Also, if you buy in-store, check the back of the card to make sure there is an actual sim inside. Sometimes they are missing because the sim card can be removed without being opened.

Deal of the Day, one day only sale.

If you buy or pick up your purchase in-store:
Check the window in the back of the card to make sure that there is an actual sim inside. Sometimes they are missing because the sim card can be removed without being opened

Will Mint Mobile work on a TMo locked phone without unlocking? I see some mixed answers elsewhere online.

Yes. I can at least say with confidence that iPhones locked to TMo can be used on Mint with no issues (my Dad uses 2 which I bought for him through my TMobile plan). One thing to note is that time sitting on the Mint network does not count in the same way as being active on TMo proper with regards to the 40 or so days required to qualify for an unlock. Basically the phone will remain locked indefinitly but will fuction just fine on Mint.

hi, so whats the play here? you port your current mint number to GV, get this deal, register as "new number" & then port your original # back from GV to mint? what are the costs for this or perhaps is there a more detailed guide on how to do this? appreciate the heads up.
