According to the Q/A, "if you are already on Mint, buying this plan would provide you with a new phone number."

You cannot use this plan as an extension or to port over an existing Mint Mobile Number.

Anyone know how long to activate?

I have a plan that runs out in April… I have been using the mint plans for a while and they aren't the best but they are the cheapest I've seen…

EDIT: multiple answers

Q: Question…… when must the SIM card be Activated? I assume the card expires after that date?
Asked 5 months ago by Azul.

A:Answer Mint requires you to activate your sim within 45 days of purchase.

So if you buy today you have to activate by about march 15th… though I find that mint is generally forgiving on these dates…

Please look at similar other threads here on slickdeals. You will find tons of questions around the same.
TLDR: you can activate bestbuy ones even after more than a year, until the expiration date of that sim. I just activated my 1.5 year old purchase a month ago

Roger thtat kay gee, thanks.. I have activated older ones from Best Buy too but it seemed the ones straight from Mint were not as forgiving. People occasionally ask me what mobile phone providor I use and I just say mint and they say ... oh the ryan reynolds company, then I tell them what I pay and their brain short circuits...

I just switch over to Visible ($15 unlimited locked in for 12 months) from Mint. So far the LTE is faster than Mint mobile in my area.

Want to know too. I went to USMobile and thinking about coming back after the free trial ends.

If you buy a kit from mintmobile it's gonna expire in 45 days. I've held the ones from bestbuy as long as a year later and activated them. In one case double dipping into a "buy 3 get 3" promo they had going at the time.
