I definitely would be charging at least this much to build this for someone. Probably more because of my time. The fact they throw in windows and a 3 year warranty for $1600 isn't bad at all.
Seems like a decent package. Anyone have experience with the case and ventilation? Would it be worth replacing the PSU? (I just see many people saying issues tend to stem from cheap PSUs in these prebuilts)
I'm also interested in additional perspectives. From previous threads, it's been mentioned 16GB is minimum, 32GB preferred. I think I'll wait to get one where I can choose this (and a few other) option(s). I don't want to swap anything out myself.

iBUYPOWER has been totally slayed by Gamer Nexus (GN) recently for really bad packaging, bad system build QC, bad BIOS setup and slow CS support (see here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9sDRiakWcIM). According to the GN review iBUYPOWER puts a sticker in their builds that actually states that they don't even bother to test the built system before shipping it out. I'm not sure if this is still the case.
In terms of case ventilation, the case used in this deal looks suspiciously like the case in the linked video above (i.e. very little circulation due to the closed off front panel). I'd be very concerned with ensuring you have good case ventilation and good CPU fan mounting since this deal ships with a i7-12700 CPU which is way more powerful and runs much hotter than the i3 posted in the video above. GN gave iBUYPOWER bad grades on both these elements.
I will say this is a good price for the componnents listed, suggesting that iBUYPOWER will need to cut corners somewhere else to make sure they get a profit for these pre-builts. Personally I wouldn't touch iBUYPOWER pre-builds until there is evidence that they have cleaned up their act.

My experience with iBuyPower
I ordered a good case 500DX, so no temperature problems.
1. Horrible customer service. Customers had to rely on Reddit for a chance at solving their problems.
2. They don't pad your GPU well enough and refuse to ship it separately. The reddit has been filled with complaints about damaged GPU/motherboards.
3. The PSU I received was a brand named "High Power", non-modular but expected. Research says it's decent.
4. Did not get the antenna for my WiFi motherboard.
5. IBP branded fans are garbage. It's rattling 1 year later. They were dusty when it arrived. The bequiet fans were not, so I assume they reuse old fans and possibly the AIO it was attached to.
6. I got a nicer GPU than expected (Ordered a 3070 and got Aorus Master 3070)
7. The motherboard was not seated well in the case (i.e. motherboard I/O did not align with case cutout)

Here's another GN review of a recently purchased pre-built gaming PC from iBUYPOWER in which a 12 year old GPU is provided, 8GB stick instead of 16GB stick of RAM is installed and stripped downs versions of MB, RAM and GPU are used. The bad QC build oversight and packaging noted from the video above still exists. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sqK9wR6KMLs
I got the 3070 one like few months ago. I had some issues with some RGB not lighting up and weird noises coming from the computer. I had to ship it back for them to fix the issue which took 2 weeks. After I got it back, weird noises around the PSU started happening... PC is good and fast but not very happy with all these issues going on.

There is a difference between the Pre-Builds they sell and sold by third party sellers like BestBuy, Amazon. The one reviewed over there, is actually a BestBuy model, link: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/ibuy...Id=6455405
I am sharing my experience not because I posted this deal but I actually purchased one from them, when the GPU shortage was starting, a Ryzen 5900 + RTX 3070 which I have posted here as well. https://slickdeals.net/f/14761642-ibuypower-gaming-desktop-amd-ryzen-5-5600x-16gb-ddr4-1tb-ssd-rtx-3070-no-os-1289-more-free-shipping?src=SiteSearchV2Algo1 (I configured with Ryzen 9 5900 which was available on that time)
The build quality was pretty decent and I understand that on that, I had the opportunity of configuring everything but the other factors like the Packaging, internal cushioning and shipping experience was pretty good.

Confused... What is the difference in buying an iBUYPOWER pre-built PC from Best Buy vs. purchasing it directly from iBUYPOWER? Aren't they being built and QC'd by the same vendor? Isn't the warranty the same? The only difference I can see is if you have an immediate issue you can take it immediately back to BB to get your money back rather than dealing with the horrid CS from iBUYPOWER.

As per my experience and knowledge, if you buy from them directly, the quality, you'll get is better. I am posting deals for these kind of Boutique PC Companies for a long time. Basically, the Desktops which go to the 3rd party retailers, are mass produced by a separate division and shipped to them in bulk. If you go to Walmart or BB, you can actually see them.
On the other hand, occasional Pre-Built offers, which they called RDY system, are actually built in limited numbers in their warehouse and as per my knowledge, there are certain degree of Sanity testing. Even the components they use in these RDY deals, are chosen by the availability of components. That's why they don't mention the motherboard name or GPU brand name because they add them based on the orders and availability. In my experience (Me, friend and colleagues), these limited time Pre-Built Desktops are better in quality than the one sold by 3rd party retailers.

You can still purchase this abomination of a gaming PC on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08VWNBWLL?tag=gamersnexus01-20&psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details&gen... [amazon.com]
