There's stories about that with every major manufacturer these days.
Just get a model with features you want, a decent warranty, and in the price range you want.

Not a good deal if your fridge breaks down after some short time. Just had an LG repaired yesterday for a failed compressor (evaporator coil was full of liquid). Idiot companies that cut corners on parts and then spend more than a brand new fridge on repairs.

My 3 year old $3000 french door LG fridge just died also due to compressor. Buy at your own risk when it comes to LG and Samsung fridge

Mine broke after a year and a half. Great deal if you use it as a second fridge or have some sort of backup. I woulnd't go without a fridge for a week or more.

I feel your pain. They used to occasionally go on sale but now I think with the supply chain issues, the companies are only making the standard sizes in any volume, which means few deals on the niche stuff, assuming you can even find one.

Costco was running a Samsung counter depth deal all last summer. But not once was in available for purchase.

I own this model and it's quite nice. Unfortunately, I paid around $1900 for this around November.

I purchased this over other deals for LG fridges because I believe this is supposed to be a newer model and the older models had a major part fail pretty often.

Did you have an older model or this one? Around 2019 or so they redesigned the compressors that were failing or so I've read. There was a major issue with the old design.

My door in door LG seems to be working w/o a glitch as of two years so far. I do have my 16 year old frigidaire gallery (still working like a champ) as backup but when this inevitably breaks down, I'll replace the LG with a new fridigaire model next time. The more and more apparent trend of unreliability for the Samsung and LG models seem to offset any price difference especially when considering cost per year of use.

Wish we could get rid of the crappy Kitchenaide refrigerator we ordered a few years ago and get this one. The internal plastic parts have all fallen apart. I've replaced the center plastic part that holds the veggie bins 4 or 5 times already. Other parts that are part of the shelves have broken off also or otherwise have started cracking. Also a few other annoying areas I haven't been able to find a permanent fix for. But it's working so can't throw it out and we already have an older GE in the garage…

Please stay away from LG fridges or buying extended warranty if you don't want to deal with the headaches.
