There's stories about that with every major manufacturer these days.
Just get a model with features you want, a decent warranty, and in the price range you want.

Not a good deal if your fridge breaks down after some short time. Just had an LG repaired yesterday for a failed compressor (evaporator coil was full of liquid). Idiot companies that cut corners on parts and then spend more than a brand new fridge on repairs.

Because of 32 inch width space constraint I purchased 20cu from Costco few days back ~$1600.
Now this is a good price and bigger, can't get this due to width size.

Lg and samsung do have some known issues but let's also be honest, they outsell the competitors so much theres gonna be that many more problems. I've been fridge shopping last week or 2 and no matter what store I'm at 60% of fridges at showrooms are LG/Samsung models. So no wonder you hear the most problems about them they sell the most. Personally my whirlpool gold gave me 2 big problems in 5 years and my parents Samsung 8 years before it had an issue. It really is the luck of the draw imo

I have this exact model and love the double freezer concept. No issues so far in last two years. Bought at much higher price from Costco, its steal at this price.

Totally agree. If browsing consumer reports for the last couple weeks has taught me anything, it's that you can pick literally any model of any type of appliance and there will be a group of people with horror stories about it.

Yeah it's hard for me to trash the LG fridges. Bought a new one in 2014 and had no issues for 7 years. Sold home about 10 months ago so can't say if it's still holding up. But it impressed me with the way everybody was talking about the fridges breaking down. I'll give them another chance.
