What you should do is order it, and when it comes in, look at the ram stick installed. There will be a brand name, and a model number/part number for the RAM stick in there. Just Google that, and usually you can find someone on Ebay selling that exact same thing for very little money. That way you have a (somewhat) matched pair, but only have to buy one.

IMO:
Windows 10 is a plus at this time
SD and DVD drive are a plus
Here's a link to Acer for better info than eBay - https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/con....BH7AA.002
Yes, the 512GB storage is SSD of some kind, either SATA or NVMe.

They said if I buy just one stick of 8GB RAM and attempt to use it side-by-side with the 8GB that's already installed—it could cause issues.

Looks like a good deal but it sucks most of these good deals are only for smaller form factor PCs. Specs look like a decent upgrade from my computer's i7-3770 and 8gb ddr3. If this was full size I'd jump on it and put my 600w EVGA power supply and GTX 1060 3gb in it.

For just basic web surfing and some youtube videos, is there any real noticeable the difference between this Core i5 and the Core i3- 10105 3.70GHz ?

I know they made low-profile 750 Ti GPUs. Would not need any extra power. This is a good deal for Grandma/parents/closet server. Mother's Day is coming up!

Or buy new. 1 8GB stick would be pretty cheap even new.

I don't think you'd see much improvement until you upgraded your GPU. If you want to feel faster, get an SATA SSD if you don't already have one. Practically, even NVMe drives don't see that much improvement over a good SATA SSD.

Too bad the older XC PCs were actually ATX compliant.

To do a price breakdown...
CPU - $160
Motherboard - $80
RAM - $25
SSD - $40
Drive -$25
Case+PSU - $80
=$410 total

This is a pretty darn good price here hampered by a tiny case.

I assume the (2) HDMI ports are v1.4 - I need HDMI 2.0 so it'll drive a 4K monitor @60hz. HDMI 2.0 ports should be standard these days.

I don't have this PC, so I can't verify, but the comments in the YouTube link below mentions the hdmi ports are 2.0b.

Another note. UHD 730 graphics itself is capable of 4k@60hz. I've had laptops that said hdmi 1.3 but were able to output 4k@60hz just fine because the chipset worked at 4k. Obviously, YMMV.

Edit: another note - seems the included fan may be pretty loud. Can replace it pretty easily. Above YT video comments has a link to a replacement fan if you are so inclined.

Thanks.

I actually bought this last night--long before this thread was created. Was surprised to see it on SlickDeals.

I need a work PC that will allow me to have 10+ Chrome tabs, 4-5 Firefox tabs, Spotify, Slack, Zoom, etc all open at once.

The 10 year old laptop with an i5 and 4gb of RAM that I had in my closet didn't work well. Too laggy.

So I researched all the major websites, best buy, walmart, target, amazon, etc and I could not find a decent i5 with 16gb of RAM computer. I only found refurbished ones with older processors and DDR3 RAM.

I think this is a great deal for a work from home PC

However, I did buy two 8GB sticks of DDR4 3200 RAM on Amazon. 16GB of RAM should be enough to provide an efficient experience while working from home.
Wise,

Noob question How sure are you about the exact RAM? I am also looking to add more ram

Desktop noob here, can this be a decent budget setup for school work, video streaming, and some light gaming? If not, any recommendations?

LIGHT gaming? Depends on how light is light. Everything else, no problem.

People, it's a cheap tower, It's great for anyone that needs office computing. I wouldn't buy this to edit photos, videos or anything that requires heavy processing. Judging by the image, you should be able to add or upgrade ram or swap graphics card, but it's a waste of time and money to swap the processor. Perfect box for people that just need to replace an outdated machine.

Look at the product info page and it'll tell you. Crucial also has a memory tool on their site ou put in the model and It;ll tell you what's compatible.

Or you can look at the chipset's recommended ram.
