Price is pretty good.
Compact routers are great for a few tasks, like trimming laminate or breaking edges.
But if you want to do woodworking, this is probably not the first router you would want to get. Start with something more versatile.

Most of your routing you'll want to do with 1/2" shanked bits on a router where you can vary the speed to suit. This one won't do that.

MWEBB11111 ... Not a bad deal, but I'd go with the 1-¼ hp colt if going with a Corded Bosch Trim Router. It's more than just the ¼ hp extra.

With that said, if you are on a cordless platform a cordless router is so much better. (And sadly, it seems Bosch will never release their cordless 18v router.)

The Milwaukee, Dewalt, and Metabo are all good, just depends on who has the best deal or your battery platform

Agreed, even running the router along a straight edge is a common task that is harder with the square base on this model as opposed to a rounded base. You would think the square edges make it easier to follow the straight edge, but it doesn't.

This one does appear to vary speed so it's actually better priced than expected?

Most people would say that the DeWalt is the best followed by the Makita.

The Makita has the benefit of sharing batteries with the Makita track saw, usually considered almost as good as the Festool track saw, sometimes ranked above.

IMO the depth adjustment on the PR20EVS is so bad that I consider it defective. It is difficult to dial in and then lock into place accurately, and the lock does not hold while being used. In short, the depth adjustment is just not accurate. In contrast, the new GKF125CEN has the best depth adjustment that I've used.

The new model also has LED lighting which is surprisingly useful, if only to make sure that I know that the router is unplugged before making a bit change. I know the price for the PR20EVS is very low, but I personally can't recommend this model at any price.

Do you get yours from them? The website says it is GKF125CEK which should include a case and straight edge guide but no pictures are showing this. A few people questioned this but they got different answers from staff and buyers.
