Compact routers are great for a few tasks, like trimming laminate or breaking edges.
But if you want to do woodworking, this is probably not the first router you would want to get. Start with something more versatile.
Most of your routing you'll want to do with 1/2" shanked bits on a router where you can vary the speed to suit. This one won't do that.

With that said, if you are on a cordless platform a cordless router is so much better. (And sadly, it seems Bosch will never release their cordless 18v router.)

The new model also has LED lighting which is surprisingly useful, if only to make sure that I know that the router is unplugged before making a bit change. I know the price for the PR20EVS is very low, but I personally can't recommend this model at any price.
