Bought this for $196 (Amazon Warehouse) in 2021. Graphics card of course will be limited to the capacity of Thunderbolt 3, but still works great if you want to add a beefy graphics card for your laptop or mini PC.

If you want maximum performance during use, I recommend removing the outer shell as your graphics card will run much cooler with it off. When you're done, just put the shell back on (it's really easy to do). I use my RTX 3070 in it and it gets 5 to 10 degree lower temps without the shell on thanks to the super open air flow.

Agreed. I have this unit, and it works great (provided your expectations are in line with what a TB3 port/connection will be able to deliver). I wish they would discount the Core X Chroma model with the built-in LAN, so I could have more of a full docking solution. If you are strictly looking for an eGPU unit, this one has been great for me as well (still not cheap when you factor in the price of a video card on top of the enclosure though). I mostly used mine with a GTX 1080 in it.

Can you put in a 3080 Ti and get full power on it?

Can you switch out the power supply for like a bigger one like 850

That's probably more than the Thunderbolt 3 can handle tbh. I've tried my 3080 in there but I didn't want to kill it by pushing it to its limits inside an external enclosure with only a 650W PSU. If you'd want to try, it'd be best to swap out the 650W SFX PSU with a 1000W (or higher?) SFX PSU. Even then, I don't know offhand if the PSU inside is a standard SFX size or if it's custom.
