Played this whole game, and 999/VLR/Ever17 are amongst my favorite works of fiction so I'm a huge Uchikoshi fan
I am somewhere between ambivalent and dislike of this game.
Story never really gripped me, though I thought the ending was nice. Game was way too long. Some of the sci fi/conspiracy elements were really fun and reminded me of the ol' 999 days, but they made up like 10 minutes total of the 30 hour game. The incredibly weird tonal whiplash of the action scenes was truly bewildering and off-putting.

IMO it's a skip.
