I don't think this is true … I have madden for my Xbox and disc only works on my series x … not my Xbox one

Something may be wrong with your xbox or game disc possibly, they work universally the only thing series x disc does is give you access to the higher resolution/framerate "series x" version of the game. so if you ever upgrade to the newer xbox you automatically get the nextgen version free.. I'd look into it if i were you, i bought "series x" labeled games for my xbox before i upgraded and never had any issues.

I'm not sure either. I bought this deal at $10 the other week, and the copy literally only says "xbox series X" on it. And on Amazon, they also sell a different version that says "Xbox One and Xbox Series X".

(Which begs the question of why anyone would buy the xbox series X only version. Or maybe that's why it's only this version that's on sale since no one wants it.

You're wrong. Just like every next gen console games will eventually be exclusive to series. Most are just cross gen for now. GameStop sells just the series x version of cod vanguard. It generally comes as a multiplatform but they had just the series x on sale the other week
