G85 was $500, this is not worth $200 more. I will prefer to wait for another deal on G85 or wait for price drop on G95

I'm new to mirrorless and don't really know much about Panasonics in general. What's the difference? What's a good price on a G95?

Also, this is a bundle. If a person has value for the bundle items (ie. needs a case, card, flash, etc), is it still not a good deal?

Very good deal. There was a recent $100 price cut in the G95 plus this adds those accessories (if you need them). The major different is the better sensor, which can help a lot for photography.

How is the video on this? I primarily want it to 4k video of my kids playing sports. Would the G85 be good enough?

i have both this and the g85, and the g95, they booth look great, Panasonic probably has the best color science in the market, and also best dual IBS (in-body-stabilization) but they wont shoot 4k 60fps, which is usually the framerate preferred for sports, you will be limited to 4k 30fps. if you film at lower resolutions you can achieve 60fps.

(Im assuming you'd want 60fps because otherwise you'd get quite a bit of motion blur from fast moving subjects/objects, but if you're going for a "cinematic look" 24 or 30fps should be good enough)

Also i'll highly recommend looking into full frame sensor cameras if you want to film sports or low light.

I got the G85 for $500 months back, otherwise I'd probably jump on this. Really enjoying the 85 though so no complaints. I think my next upgrade will be the G9 in a few years.

Good camera if you don't like attention because you'll be out focus.

It depends which sports are you shooting and what age (level) are your kids.
If money is no concern, I would go with a Sony a7iv. Sony has fast focus and great low light capabilities. If you want cinema like look, Fujifilm X-T4 is great.
I don't have any of these cameras, but I am researching and looking forward to buy Sony a7iii or Sony a7iv.
Panasonic has great colors and cinematic picture quality, but they are no good for sports.

Soccer for my son who is in competitive club level U 10.
I want to be to able to zoom in on a play and see his moves and edit them for highlights for recruitment. My Galaxy S20 has 4k video and it looks decent but I want better and not spend too much.

Looking for a good camera + video recorder to take pictures and video for kids playing in school orchestra. Would this be a good choice as compared to like a iPhone13 pro?

Could be seating in the balcony section or regular section. Light could be dimmed in the surrounding with spot light on stage.

Thanks!

I miss the point and shoot cameras. Nothing last forever, all mine died and these are beyond crazy price to replace P&S.

How are these mirrorless cameras compared to a traditional DSLR? Do the mirrorless have faster or equally as fast shutter speeds similar to a DSLR?

I've had point and shoots over the years and missed a lot of moments because of the autofocus lag. I'm actually looking for a camera for vacation.

I just purchased a FZ1000 (amazon warehouse) to take to Africa for a safari. Is this vastly superior? I realize I would need to purchase another lens and that the FZ1000 would not be warrantied. Current camera is a Canon t2i. thanks
