1. S7 will automatically raise its mop by 5mm as soon it detects carpet
2. S7 has a sonic mop which actually vibrates the mop to mimic scrubbing, rather than dragging wet mop all through.

Great deal, got mine last year on an SD and use it all the time. I was looking forward to the new dock with auto-empty and auto-water fill + pad cleaning, but the unit itself is understandably a huge footprint. Looking to maybe further iterations when they can get the size of those docks down.
Can this unit be used with the new auto wash, fill docking station that just released? Or does that base use a completely different vacuum?
I don't believe so. You'll likely need the new vacuum to use the auto wash / auto empty station since that specific model has the components for water to be added in

Nice, very tempting. I've got two roborocks and they are awesome! Does anyone know how this one will work on thick carpet? That would be my only concern with the auto lifting.

Instead of just dragging a wet rag on the floors, this one has "sonic mopping". That's right, Sonic the Hedgehog will dip himself in water and zoom across your floors .
When I read that the S5 max (and most others) just drag a wet rag across the floors, I skipped mopping. I have the s4 max (no mopping) and am getting the s7 because I really want that mopping function. If it doesn't work as I want, it will go back.

The mopping is better than nothing still. That said we rarely use it because you need to manually go to your robot, fill the tank, attach the mop, turn it on, then remember to remove and empty the tank and wash the pad.
Their ultra dock is super expensive... but a pretty big game changer for lazy people like me. Fills its tank and cleans the mop pad.
