Yes, two things to consider
1. S7 will automatically raise its mop by 5mm as soon it detects carpet
2. S7 has a sonic mop which actually vibrates the mop to mimic scrubbing, rather than dragging wet mop all through.

Can anyone please tell me:
This one or the Roomba i8 from costco. I know that this one is able to moop but for vacuum only which one is better.
My house is 1 floor @ 2400 sf all hard surface (vinyl + title no carpet).
TIA

Does the roomba have LiDAR navigation? If it's still using the same navigation as my Roomba M6 then pick the Roborock it's light years ahead.
The mopping is better than nothing still. That said we rarely use it because you need to manually go to your robot, fill the tank, attach the mop, turn it on, then remember to remove and empty the tank and wash the pad.
Their ultra dock is super expensive... but a pretty big game changer for lazy people like me. Fills its tank and cleans the mop pad.
100% this. If you want to maximize its function, you are gonna want to get a couple of replacement mop pads, and use a new mop pad every time you clean up the robot's dust bin and add water tank. You can even spray floor cleaner or swiffer fluid on the mop pad.
All in all it's gonna be a very involved experience if you want this robot to perform at full potential. If you don't want that, any other regular vacuum robot with a base is probably much easier.
But in my opinion, doing all that robo-maintenance is still way esaier and saves me more time and energy than having to actually mop and vacuum myself. It's very good at keeping a maintenance cleaning for your house, and you can just spot clean/touch up on stuff that they miss.
This or ECOVACS DEEBOOT N8+ ? Recent deal on N8+ was $288.
One big advantage of Roborock is the availability of replacement batteries.. My 10-year old Roomba is on its fourth one but is otherwise going strong. I had an unpleasant exchange with Ecovacs customer support a few years back where they basically said "tough luck" when the battery died. Maybe things have changed. Almost all of the Roborocks use the same battery which is commonly available on Amazon., I won't buy a robot vacuum unless I can get service parts like the battery as the useful battery life is about 2 years.
Oh yeah... I have the s4 Max and don't expect any Roborock to clean a area rug with pile more than about 1/2". Mine immediately got tangled up in a 3/4-1" pile rug and needed to be cut loose as the silicon side brush got twisted around the pile. It had difficult even moving on that rug. You can get a brush-style replacement side-brush that helps.
My thoughts coming from the shark robo vacuum'. Highly recommend Roborock. In the last 3 months I've purchased the regular s7 and the s7 with the auto empty dock. Both work amazing and I plan to get one for my finished basement.
Bought this yesterday when it was $481 ($1 more). It is the same item from the same seller, so I asked Amazon for a price match. They steadfastly refuse to issue one, and the order from yesterday can no longer be canceled. I placed a second order and told them I will be returning the original order, and they said go ahead and do that. So I confirmed with them, Amazon would rather spend money to ship the second package both ways, and release additional shipping emissions (despite preaching environmental stewardship) instead of just giving me a $1 refund/credit, (which I will ultimately end up with anyway) and the agent said yes that is what I would need to do. This literally makes no sense to me. And yes I know it's $1 but as the matter of principle it is disappointing seeing a company operate this way.
Nice, very tempting. I've got two roborocks and they are awesome! Does anyone know how this one will work on thick carpet? That would be my only concern with the auto lifting.
It struggles on thick shaggy / sheepskin style rugs. Auto lifting works fine but you can still feel little moisture on the rug as its just that type of carpet. Carpet fibers are going to touch the mop even if its lifted all the way. Not roborocks fault...I just role up the rug

Amazon got rid of price match for quite some time. it really just depends on the agent you are asking, also easier if it's sold and shipped by amazon. but I salute you for all the time you are spending to get $1 back and the gas money/time you are going to spend to return the package.

How is the mop feature of this? I have a dumb roomba that does just fine bumping around, since no matter what you still need a regular vac for those stubborn areas. i do mop my floors every week though, would this be good enough to get me to stop mopping unless really needed?

It will absolute Not work.... The mop lifts 4mm, it's just enough for a very thin rug. I have a super thin rug and the brush still touches it and gets it a bit wet. Otherwise the vacuum is awesome. Much better deal than refurbs on fleebay, both units came in scratched and dirty, and went right back. The latest refurbs on ebay for s7 are no longer coming in "like new" condition. You've been warned.

Dude, go ahead and try to fark the system. Watch them ban your account later... All for a dollar? Really?

I am sticking with the n8+ for now. It is about $200 less and Walmart has a 90 day return policy. If ultimately I don't like it, I can return it. And by that time I am guessing there will be better Roborock deals than even this one.

But yeah, seems a bit bizarre to do all of that to prove a point over $1.
