It's the same as the X800H, but Rtings reviewed the 55" with an IPS panel. This 85" has a VA panel, so the contrast ratio will be much higher... therefore the movie ratings will be better than what Rtings says.

I had high hopes for the va panel too, but still much worse than a panel with local dimming. I tried the equivalent sony 85" panel for $800 during the BB open box sale and then got the samsung qled 75" panel with local dimming for the same price. The difference is night and day, the blacks on the 85" had a very noticeable bluish washout look.

Seems like a solid deal on a pretty decent TV. Wishing I had the need for a screen this size!

Solid deal, I think I paid around $1700 for this a little under a year ago. In terms of dollar per inch, this is a pretty decent TV, especially at $1300. Black levels aren't fantastic, but if you just want a big panel for sports or video games (that aren't mostly dark), it's pretty good. Built-in apps, if you care, are reasonably snappy and responsive. Motion handling is good enough that I never notice or think about it, which for me is a sign of good motion processing (vs. Vizio TVs from a few years back that made me nauseous).

Other than the mediocre black levels, my only complaint with it has been minor instability with respect to ARC and CEC -- occasionally it gets wonky and doesn't output audio back to the receiver, and I have to power cycle it. Like once every couple months. Other than that, it's been fine.

I plan to use it to replace my 8 year old projector in my living room. The projector (benq 1075) had excellent color but in the day time it is barely visible. Does this tv work good in the day time also?

Absolutely. This gets plenty bright.
