That moment when the monitor costs more open box (before additional discount) than new. Like at least cost the same lol.

Well their closed box brand new monitors have an extremely high rate of dead/stuck pixels, so if they're selling them open box, maybe there's a better chance someone's inspected them as being perfectly functional?

Thank you for post, price of 49" and 34" dropped another $100+. Disclaimer, I hate the menu on these monitors. The rest of it (34") is gorgeous.

- 34" with free shipping, $299 + tax (available)
- 49" with free shipping, and tax $$561 (out of stock, I think I got the last one. Smilie

I don't think so. But in my experience Monoprice's customer service is terrible. I had to bbb.org them (and Target) to get one of the two honor their warranty. My new monitor stopped turning on less than a month after I received it. Target came through.

Taking another chance because $500 < $1500. Specs are true for the 34" dark matter. It was a whole new experience while it worked.

- 3440 x 1440p @ 144Hz maximum video resolution
- 4ms response time (MPRT 1ms)
- Supports Picture‑in‑Picture (PiP) and Picture‑by‑Picture (PbP) display modes
- 75 x 75 VESA® mounting pattern
- menu = :poo:

I think it varies. Sharp makes the panel for the IGZO monitor iirc.

just remember - return shipping on a monitor is $120 and monoprice does not pay for return shipping.
this wiped out my next 10 years of 25% off.

I think it's backwards unfortunately. I imagine these are returns from people who got dead or stuck pixels. It can often be easier to return than warranty.

All probably returned for too much backlight bleed through. It's a gamble for sure with their sub par return policy and customer service.
