This is exactly why I love Microcenter. They ship easily available products, but limit the high demand products to their store sales only. This really helps to reduce the amount of scalpers buying products and reselling, creating this stupid high priced market. It makes it impossbile to use bots to buy dozens of out of stock products. Plus it makes these products available to local real customers.

If you missed out on this, Check AMD's site on Thursdays aroun 8:30-9:10am Central time to catch them selling their reference models for MSRP. I got my 6800XT for 649 back in March. 6900xt is 999, 6800 is 579 I believe.

WOW! Amazing, this is a hell of a card for that price! I have a regular 6800 (no XT) and I LOVE it. I game at 3840X1600, 144hz and it is great! I'd love the extra power of the 6800XT and would buy in a heart beat!

Unfortunately AMD decided to drop cards today and most of us missed it. Many were able to get 6800XTs. Not sure if they'll do another one this Thursday

They would change the day lol. They need to drop the price on the 6900xt, it's 350 bucks more than a 6800xt. Make them 800.

I would check back tomorrow morning. Some stores may not have gotten the shipment on the same day.

Too bad many you don't have a microcenter near you. The prices are usually on par with what you can find on the internet, and the nerds there are way more knowledgeable than the best buy sales people.

There's only 25 stores nationwide: https://www.microcenter.com/site/...fault.aspx They usually place themselves near the wealthy suburbs of major cities. I'm surprised they haven't expanded to at least all the major 250k+ size cities in the U.S. yet. Their business model is great.

I got 2 of these. One New and Open-box.

Im returning both due to coil whine. (ONLY IN GAMES, desktop and browsing will be quiet)

Some fixes I tried but didnt work:
Really disappointed.
I had changed my power rail to 2 rails connecting the GPU to PSU. 1 Powerrail was fine for 3070ti.
Undervolting without losing performance. I am really sad this didnt work since this is a much stronger card than the 3070ti.

The noise is unbearable ahhhh. Its like sitting in a server room loud at your home desk.

I know its a better card and even with the coil whine had more FPS in-game. I still have a good 3070ti to go back on so I will be returning both of them to the Tustin Microcenter.

If someone wants to give them a try, I will be returning them tonight and they will probably be sold as open-box. The open-box that I got was $563, SUCH A SHAME THEY HAD SUCH LOUD COIL WHINE AAHGHHHHHHH.

MY monitor is also freesync and 3070 cant really utilize it fully. Gonna have to wait til blackfriday for nother shot most likely.

I play with a headset to get the best 3 dimensional awareness, so I guess the noise of my PC never really bothers me under load. Only when web surfing do I not wear my headset and I have my fan curves set according to be very quiet.

Is the coil whine worse than gaming on a laptop, where they all sound like rocketships taking off?

Well After putting in my 3070ti that wasn't coil whining, IT NOW COIL WHINES.

That's weird... Maybe your power supply? Did you end up returning the 6800XTs? I might try to pick one up and see if i get any coil whine with them.
