Yeah, the problem with the Mossimo at Costco is that the top compressor makes it harder to reach and grab things. But I get wanting it just for the warranty.

The problem with e coolers is that there are so many brands and all seem to have good reviews and around the same price range. Just hard to know which to go with. They are commodities at this point.

I just have to remember that like any product, the majority of people submitting a review are doing so because of a bad experience. All of the people who like the product never submit a review. So the numbers are skewed.
This is a true compressor-based unit, not one with a Peltier Junction cooler. Those have lousy effieciency.
Even that is hard to do now. I assume any good review is a paid reviewer on most products.

One pain on this one is that per the warranty, after two months, return shipping for warranty purposes is at your expense.

The more I look at the return and warranty processes on these, the more tempted I am to just grab the 40 liter from Costco. I don't like the design as much, but I can just drag it back to a store.

This unit is actually efficient because it's not constantly running. It's an amazing unit have two friends who have them. Been working for years

I really wonder what the difference in terms of reliability and performance on these is. The top tier $1k models are out of the question for me, I just wonder how much better these are compared to the generic non-brand models that are a bit cheaper.

There are too many negative comments about the unit malfunctioning after only a few months for me to feel comfortable with buying one of these. I was really excited at first. Going to have to conduct some non-amazon research.

That's what the $11 extended warranty is for.

Haven't done the Amazon warranty before, but the maker's 1 year involves shipping costs, which would be horrible for something like this.
As easy as it sounds, when there is a problem?

Yeah I have the 50L Massimo and I agree, the cooling unit in the top is annoying. Not only does it create a shelf a lot of your food has to be tucked under and then you cant get it out without unpacking everything else, but it also makes the cooler really top heavy and it likes to fall over when you go fast around corners or go off-roading like I do with mine. I have to have it strapped to the back of the passenger seat. But also like you said, I got it purely for the ability to return it to costco if it ever stops working instead of just being out $370.

I have an ACOPOWER that was $799, but also has a built in battery. I've had it for about 4 years now and it's a beast. Has a genuine LG compressor, cools down quickly, and the built in battery is a lifesaver even though it obviously doesn't last a super long time. Has a 12v adapter for the car as well.

This fridge has been a total game changer for camping and road trips. Going to see the family for thanksgiving? Bring this and then I can take home all the leftovers. Going camping? Use this and never have to buy ice, which also means it holds more than the same size cooler that uses ice. It's hard to explain how nice it is to not dig through ice or cold water to get stuff out. Also, stuff doesn't get ruined from getting wet during your trip or drive.

Lastly, it's great as an emergency fridge. Cools down quickly, I can run it off my golabs battery, or even use my generator which would run it for a while since it's such low draw.

For anyone on the fence about these fridges, think about your use case, and it's probably worth it. If you camp or travel often this thing is amazing. Get an extended warranty if you can, so it'll last years.

This one is amazing because you can plug it in at home or in the garage if you need extra room or to hold my cold beer. When I need to travel I can take it with me and hook it up via 12v or 24v.

With the Amazon waranty, it kicks in after the first 12month manufacturer warranty so if it breaks in the first 12 months just wait until you can use the Amazon warranty and you won't have to pay shipping.

https://www.costco.com/massimo-cx...66474.html. I got this for about 264 a few weeks ago, primarily because I and a friend and her granddaughter go on weekend trips and she is one of those picky eaters. All organic for her and the baby , will only eat certain things etc. i can just eat take out from wherever but she has to have her needs met. Last time we went for the free breakfast at the hotel and she wouldn't eat anything so we ended up
Having to go somewhere else for her. This will allow for her to take all her stuff she wants - drinks, sandwiches, pre made food, whatever.

It does say it's a compressor as well. Slick deals had a link which may still be up.
