Our household has a lot of Ninja products. One being an older Ninja Coffee Bar (CF080). Still works great after 7 years. My wife, the main coffee drinker in the house, keeps buying other coffee makers, but ultimately returning them and going back to the Ninja.
Note: If you don't proactively descale, eventually you will get descale alerts and the coffee maker cuts off. If that happens and descaling doesn't work the first time... Just keep recycling the vinegar and water mixture through the machine a few more times... eventually it breaks down the gunk and cleans it self out. In short, be proactive. Don't wait for the descale light to come on.
I was waiting for this to go back on sale but ended up getting the $30 personal blender from HSN the other day.
Is this worth the extra money for basic smoothies and such?

I have this blender and the vitamix. Honestly speaking I use this one more than my vitamix. Perfect for those who don't wanna drop that much cash and are looking for some simple blending. The only thing I hate are the suction cups on the bottom
I bought this without the personal cups (just the main unit and 72oz jar) during a black Friday sale last year for a little over $50 and I love it!
I use this a lot for crushing ice, making smoothies with frozen fruits and juices, and all other kinds of applications. I see it as a 'gateway' blender. It's my first powerful blender, cheap enough to take a chance in, but SO MUCH BETTER than the $30 blenders I've had in my life, it's not even fair! If it ever breaks, though, I want to go all the way to the top with a vitamix or similar. This blender got me hooked on quality stuff.

I love the suction cups on the bottom. They hold the blender in place on our granite countertop but I can see why some might not like them if they only bring it out to blend.

Costco offers a comparable unit from NutriBullet, same setup with the big jar and separate smoothie cups with separate blender attachment for the smoothie cups, we have both and prefer the NutriBullet unit. Costco also has it for the same price from time to time.
