I look at these prices and just sit here in shock. I remember when these televisions were $30k and more. Now they are starting to fall within reason. WOW.
It was $3000 delivered with tax for me this week, but I am expecting a $500 Costco gift card.
I do not think they are offering the gift card, anymore.
Does anyone know if Costco will price match after I got the gift card?

I got it for $2800 + the $500 GC last week. Went to the Costco site and clicked on the bottom right Chat option, requested a price match and they refunded the $200 plus I still keep the GC.

From an investment standpoint, electronics are pretty much the worst things you can buy with your money next to new cars.
I'm saying this as someone who's a big tech geek and loves movies and TV. I'm not saying I refuse to buy a nice TV because the value drops. But it is definitely pretty crazy to see how quickly tech depreciates. I own over a thousand dvds that I collected from my first job at age 16 up into my 20s... I probably spent a fortune on them at the time and now I could hardly give them away. (Which I don't plan to because they still give me nostalgia looking through the collection!)
But yeah, this TV in ten years will probably only be worth a hundred bucks if you're lucky. More than likely you'd have to pay someone to pick it up for you. π

Money spent on entertainment is never an investment. It's to enjoy the moment. When fresh, it fetches premium price.

Not only that, basically any tv less expensive isn't even any good. Quality cost moneyβ¦β¦ A nice $2000-3000 tv and a gaming system can actually save a lot of money in the long run.

Entertainment at home brings peace
My point was that electronics depreciate in value faster than almost anything.
