Amazon is selling the 55" VIZIO OLED TV for only $806.54 at the moment, about 33% off. This discount applies only to the 55" model and not the 65" version unfortunately. While it's a model from 2020, it's still 120hz and HDMI 2.1 compatible, though I have heard of issues with skipped frames while running 4k@120hz in Game Mode, at least according to Rtings. Still, cheaper than just about any OLED TV you can find, the only panel that I've seen match in price is the 48" LG A1 which is limited to 60hz and has an even dimmer display.

Great screen but too many software problems. I would not buy it.
I have this. Got it as a deal a year or so ago for a similar price.
It worked great when I first got it, but now I can't recommend it.

I have an Apple TV attached to it. Half of the time, the TV won't turn on with CEC. Sometimes the TV won't turn on in general (until I yank the power cord out and wait 5-10 seconds before plugging back in).

HDR10/10+ is basically broken (after multiple firmware updates). Motion isn't great, and is more noticeable the longer you own the TV. There was a firmware update that broke Dolby Vision, and it took a good few months before that was fixed. Honestly just not worth the headache. Spend your money elsewhere.
It has HDMI cec issues. When I turn on my Apple TV, the Vizio TV itself doesn't turn on reliably. I don't know if this TV is worth it now as the price gap between this and LG C1 has shrunk. Back in late 2020, I paid $899.99 for the Vizio OLED, with the LG CX costing at least $500 more.

Can you just put an external box on it or are the ports wonky too?

Most likely a roku box would be perfect.

As an owner, can vouch. A lot of panel for the money, but buggy as hell. It has gotten better with updates, but I used to curse this TV. Kind of like it now.

Comprable to the LG A1 which is brighter and 120hz. No burn in warranty is a deal breaker for me.
The LG A1 is both dimmer and is limited to 60hz.

I dont think so, TV freezes up and you have to restart the power for it to work.
Not just this there some other issues as well.
I am not sure if the TV works after recent updates.

What crashes tends to be the internal OS (especially anything with voice commands) but does not occur with an box or console.
