Up front, i don't know much if anything about exercise bikes even though i wish to acquire one. I just want something that's reliable, high quality, and great bang for the buck that gives a decent workout to supplement or replace brisk hour long walk/jogs.
I missed the IC4 deal and was kicking myself for it. How does this one compare? I rezalize this is more expensive but is it concomitantly better in a few ways? Thanks for any responses.

I do have an AD6 and had the earlier models as well. I prefer this dual action as compared to say IC4 since you get to exercise both your upper body as well as lower body. I use it for HIIT (High intensity interval training). I will recommend this though I don't know if this is the lowest price (Camel thrice?). One issue I have with this is the use of synthetic rubber chain instead of metal and I had to replace it after 3 years of continuous use (of 1 hour a day).

Thank you, that is very helpful. Is the airdyne bike (and hiit) mainly meant for the very fit? i saw a article which said that all top athletes use it, so that made me wonder whether the airdyne bike will be appropriate for regular/average people (ie not athletes) also?

I like it because it is completely mechanical (not using any motor); On treadmill (I have one), you need to keep changing the number; I guess elliptical will also be good but what I have is a low end model and the movements doesn't feel that fluid (as compared to ones I use occasionally in hotels).
And I checked Camal^3 and it shows this is the lowest price. I recommended it to my son too.
Edit: I am not a top athlete either. In fact, now I am 72 but I have been concerned about health since loosing my dad (he 46, me 14) due to stroke)! And you can do whatever level that suits you (in fact, the less wear and tear, it will last long. Especially if you use it as a cloths dryer or something )

thanks. you have helped to significantly lighten my wallet. i am terrified though by your clothes rack dryer remark and really hope that doesn't happen after buying something of this size and cost.
even if i cannot put it to use at high intensity, i hope to at least be able to workout longer sessions at lower intensity ie slow speeds— this is ok to do right?
i ordered using the delayed option with $1 digital credt to give me a chance to cancel in case you or somebody else posts something to dissuade me.
i' missed two great spin bike deals (the 350$ echelon and 500$ ic4) to buy this which is very different. hopefully a good choice.
