I bought the largest version of this safe about 12-15 years ago. It spec'ed out at 1,100 to 1,200 pounds. It's about 6' tall, 4' wide and 2' deep. The delivery company put it in our garage. I needed to hire a pool table moving company to put it in its final destination, about 100 feet from our garage.

The only maintenance it needs is to replace the 9 volt battery in the keypad every New Year's Day. Dead simple to do and ensures the keypad will give me trouble-free operation for another year. I'm retired now, but I used this safe for my business, so it was used daily. I have no complaints whatsoever. It has brought me a lot of peace-of-mind.

Did they at least place it where you told them to or just arbitrarily in the garage? Or would they have put it inside had you asked? (I assume you would have based upon your comment, but just making sure)

I ask because I may be perfectly happy with it in the garage since I don't have a basement or an overabundance of closet space.

The driver placed the safe in the garage exactly where I asked, which was just inside the garage door. Its final destination was in our office, in a separate building, in our backyard. Costco's delivery guidelines specify, "curbside." So the driver actually went further than required. I tipped him.

I was just going from the delivery limitations of the safe I ordered, which weighs a half a ton or more. It's good to see Costco offers more personal service for their smaller safes. Or, it's possible Costco has changed their delivery limitations. After looking, Costco sells a similar safe as mine, but weighs much less. Thinner gauge steel walls, I would guess.

Further edit: The safe similar to mine says: "Curbside delivery."

I had this delivered last week. It has enough room for a couple of rifles and other small valuables. Tipped the two Costco delivery guys $100 to bring it up a flight of stairs for me.
