The deck has a lifetime warranty though. I believe EGO uses a plastic deck as well, and I've had no issues with that for 3 or 4 years now.

It features dual active battery ports and includes two 40V 6Ah batteries, providing up to 70 minutes of runtime which is ideal for yards up to ¾ acre.

Not to mention, a metal deck will eventually rust. My 15 year old Crastman I replaced had a few holes in the deck. I think these plastic decks will outlive the mowers.

Anyone that could compare this to the Toro 60V deal? I grabbed that deal and the mower is fine but batteries are a fortune and the Ryobi 40v is full of deals with batteries. Also what is HD return policy on a used electric mower? I've used the Toro twice. It's about 45 days since purchase
I'd say it depends on the price you got it for. If it was the $250/225 then I would return it. You got 90 days. I got mine for $125. I would prefer the Ryobi as the batteries are cheaper and the eco system is better with Ryobi. But for $125 I'm keeping mine. I've used it once and my only complaint is that to start it you have to hold both levers and not just one. (I bought two at $125, the second is just for the battery because as you said they are expensive)

I got it for 225 or whatever it was. It cuts my 1/4 acre. I like it but I'm just worried about needing extra batteries are some point. I do not have to hold the self propel lever to start it so maybe try that again.

Ordered, thanks. Cheapest self propelled at Home Depot I was planning to buy is $399 with 1 battery and only 20". This is a steal, with 2 batteries.

Edit: The 21" side attachment on their site is not compatible with this mower. The listing for the mower says side discharge attachment is separate, however all the reviews and video unboxing I see look like it comes with the side attachment...?

Can someone explain the power ratings on these mowers? This says it includes two 40v 6Ah batteries; does this mean the mower runs on 40v and has 12Ah capacity when both batteries are installed?
I'm confused because the FP deal for the Greenworks 48v mower includes two 24v 4Ah batteries, and by my understanding it has 48v with 4Ah capacity with both batteries installed.

Looking for advice… I mow my 3 acres with a zero turn but have been looking to get a push mower to take care of more difficult/ narrow/ hilly areas. I was going to get a cheapo electric push mower (the ~$140), but then though self propelled would be nice ($209). Then tat $299 you get an additional 6ah 40V, but thinking it'd be overkill for what I needed it to do. Any thoughts/ recommendations?

Honda plastic composite decks last 15+ years here in Florida. Then they get brittle so don't bump up against anything.
Questions with this model. What's the cost of replacement blades? Are they dual mulching blades like
a Honda? How good is the transmission for the self propel? Are aftermarket batteries any good when it comes time to get a new one? Of course, battery prices will only go up since all the car manufactur
ers can't get enough lithium, etc.

This is a single blade version. Looks like this $549 model on HD's website:

https://www.homedepot.com/p/RYOBI.../314600837

There is a more expensive dual blade version on HD's website for $599 that I don't see offered.

The batteries are by far the biggest expense on electric lawn mowers. HD is selling the 40v 6A battery for $220 and this includes two batteries. A mower blade is nothing in comparison. I sharpen my own blades and they last for years unless badly chipped.

I've had my Honda HRX for 8+ years and it still works. At this price I'm going to see if the Honda is worth the hassle of gas/oil change.

I currently have a Honda gas mower (hrr216) that's terrible. I mow once a week and the mulching just ends up as a clumping mess. It constantly dies out from grass getting stuck inside, etc. Is this electric mower going to be even worse power wise where it can't handle it?

What about aftermarket batteries? Bought one back in the day for my drill with no issues. Will the dual blade setup fit on this model? I change my Hondas oil by just tipping it on the side as shown on YouTube.

I don't see how for people like me, we only use a mower when its dry out, and put it away dry. I don't have a single spec of rust on my riding steel stamped deck mower. I mean, if people leave them outside and mow in the wet. even then, it dries. it would take 100 years at my current use to have any degradation of deck.

but im an outlier, as I have a big shed, and I am a queen that if there's any moisture on the ground, meh I aint doing crap. meanwhile.. my neighbor don't give a crap. he only mows when its super tall and super wet, and he won't do anything nice with his property, his trees and bushes are overgrown his house, and he parks cars and shit in the yard. hope they move.. but they kinda just moved in a year ago.

would it be illegal for me to stand on my property border, and use a weed killer pellets and shoot them over as far as I can reach? >.>
