By the way, check Microcenters for Open box.

There's a 3070 17" version for ~$1,100 by me.

edit: sorry, it is a Maingear https://www.microcenter.com/produ...black?ob=1

Well, I would buy this if Adobe Photoshop,Lightroom and After Effects ran on Linux. Since, they don't, I have to stick to Macs.

I need the creative compute (Adobe, 4k Editing, Lightroom, Camera RAW)
as well as *NIX for coding - Docker, Kubernetes, Python, NodeJS

Looks like great specs but for that price, I need some utility to make money. Sure, I can run Windows with WSL but it is kludgey and ruin the workflow.. And workflow is what makes money.

I was referring to the hipster on the Amazon product page.

Always have to laugh at the people that can't do their job in 2022 without a Mac. Sigh.

I can do my job without a Mac. I would need this for creative work and a Thinkpad for my coding work because Linux doesn't play nice with switching GPUs on laptops. It would be IGP.

I prefer not to carry two laptops. Plus all the times fussing cost money that will pay for a MacBook in one day's worth of billable,. And yeah, I could run a Virtual Machine but I just hate Windows in general.

For a retail price of $2700, I'd expect an i9 or at least 32GB of RAM. It's got the 3080 but at a 2k+ price point, not an amazing deal.
