This is the best deal on a Surface out there. 11th Gen CPU, replaceable SSD, still made of magnesium not aluminum like the SP8. Weight difference is huge for tablet use.

don't ever buy anything with 8GB of RAM.

That isn't going to age well into the next 10 years with system requirements for new versions of Windows.

12th gen Alder Lake Intels with up to 14-cores launching this year from all vendors. Like M1, but fastest Alders beat M1 pros.

Sp7+ is just clearing out old stock...

I actually did with my 2009 vaio, it had nvidia m300 card... it's still decent, running world of warcraft classic but will not support beyond windows 7. At the time, it was 1500$. Mainly played diablo 3 and skyrim

Best Buy is selling the Core i3 version of this [bestbuy.com] (same storage, RAM, keyboard) for $200 less. It's 2 cores instead of 4, but the Tiger Lake single-core performance is very good, and that's what matters most for day-to-day use, 2 cores aren't worth $200 when this is so limited in other ways (RAM and storage).

You joke, but my 2013 MacBook Air is still going strong! I truly did not expect it to last as long as it has.

Was considering this Surface for a return to school but going with an M1 Mac instead (I know, worst time to buy with M2 around the corner)
